Let's be civil everyone, the team are in a good place so no need to be at each other's throats!

There’s no loyalty in football. 99 times out of 100 players will move on if there’s more money to be made. Home town or not.

We just forget this because no club has wanted any of our players in the last 5-10 years.

The rumours of Man Ure, AC Milan etc I think are probably a bit wild.

Remember Cameron Coxe nearly signing for Man City before opting to go to the mighty Solihull Moors?

Not trying to be negative, but when a big club comes in the first we hear of it is the bid, the fact the names fly around the papers stink of what the Mckays did in the Sala deal, newspaper talk to bloat prices

Some do think of their future careers and long-term benefits of a move, so they wouldn't move for money 99% of the time.

That's not to say eventually, but sensible players still improving will often stay with a manager they trust and respect for a period of time to develop while getting game time.

I'd agree that when Lawlor goes, it will be far higher than Coventry, probably Kpacio too, hopefully we get one more season, but time will tell.

Kpakio linked to Brentford this morning via Google on my phone.

Top scouting and player selection at Brentford; I wouldn't be surprised if that's the type of club that shows genuine interest, and it would be a good next move, fingers crossed it is just made up though.

I doubt that's a big factor, or they wouldn't have got him to sign the new contract that he did.

They would have made more in agent fees if he'd gone on a free transfer.

I expect them to be sold for good money in the summer, that's the nature of any football clubs apart from the few elite. But not because of their agents.

Just passing on what I’ve heard from a source I trust, Lawlor himself doesn’t necessarily want to go but his management want him to.

His management is small and local rather than a big firm he’s by far their biggest asset and their cut would be pretty huge for them

A bit of patience, notwithstanding the best interests of the player himself, will yield them more! :ayatollah:

I woul dnt be surprised knowing Tan that he would sell anybody for a few million. All he's interested is his own bank balance. The two clowns on the transfer commitee are ideal to do his bidding.
I still think about Ramsey who was disgustingly let go for 5p when Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool were all interested ended up going to Juventus and being one of the best midfielders in europe.
Blue valley made a good point if anyone of the youngsters goes then we must get a big sell on clause and big money as well. I don't think we 've got the personnel with the gravitas to deliver a good deal for the club and it's supporters.

Tans lost a fortune on us; his best bet would be to keep them all until the summer, extend BBM's contract if he can, or at least keep him, and sell the club for much more than the chancers offered at the start of this season.

If it goes very well and he can keep BBM, I can see him offering support for one more promotion and try to max out his investment; he's got a lot riding on our success.

Not to Juventus, though; and not for 5p (although that might be a typo)

It was c.£5m and the big issue was no sell-on clause! :(

Another one who went around the same time was Chris Gunter to Spurs for ‘not much money’ (c.£2m), and a little later the infamous Joe Ledley fled to Glasgow Celtic for no return whatsoever

The politics of the time are well documented, but they weren’t good times for the club financially and as the advert goes, ‘every little helped!:ayatollah:

I'm sure someone will confirm, but Man Utd offered 5m in instalments with sell on etc, but Arsenal offered £4.8m and all the money up front. No sell on etc. We needed the cash and thats why it was done in the way it was.

We still have our championship heads on, no one buys big from L1...... Not the money Tan would want.

He needs us to be challenging for promotion in the championship with all this talent to sell us as an attractive proposition.

I was at a Q&A with BBM on Monday evening and he actually said both players were very happy at Cardiff and stated why would they want to go to Coventry when Cardiff are a bigger club?

Leeds are also very keen on Cian Asford but BBM stated we have no intention of selling any of our young exciting prospects in this January window!

Very impressed by BBM who is very laid back but at the same time very driven having listened to him i am more confident than ever that he will lead us to promotion this season. :old:
