Bang on. Absolutely loving it and the feel good factor is back. Hasn't been like that in years.
How anyone can say the football is boring or they're not enjoying it is completely beyond me.
I'm enjoying every minute of it!

All the modern grounds are quiet by design. Noise is dissipated without double canted roofs, and the stands are too far from the pitch.

I’ve had enough of this negativity from pretend supporters. More lows than highs supporting Cardiff, embrace the good times.

Pretend supperter, I been watching Cardiff for 42 years. Nobody can explain why we don't sing and we are top of the league. We've had the stadium rocking previously. Like I said modern day football maybe just isn't for me. I want entertainment.

I've been going since 1973 and feel the same way, yes we are winning but the football is so boring, backwards-sideways, I want to be off my seat!
I again feel todays football is not for me, on a positive note it was a bit more attacking yesterday!
What gets me is, if Salech is not having much joy in the air change the tactics, we played differently when Robinson came on!
There's an old saying like giving a donkey strawberries, that how it feels when high balls are played in the box only to be headed away or caught by the keeper!
DRIVE THE BALL ACROSS THE BOX IT CAN GO ANYWHERE, AS WILLOCK PROVED AT WYCOMBE!

I can see why some people get frustrated with the sideways passing, but this is the best way to win games in the modern game.

It brings their players out of position, which helps us create more chances.

All that matters this season is promotion, if we don't get promoted the team is going to be ripped apart in the summer.

Enjoy being top of the league, with the league’s top goal scorer and the best manager we have had in years.

We could be doing a Plymouth. :ayatollah:

I get the frustration of the OP, I think we’ll all have similar feelings, deep seated or maybe a fleeting thought, watching us dominate for so much of the game for only 1 goal.
But reflecting on it, we are without doubt going through a reset. A desperately needed one. And we are learning to play and watch a style that is different to anything we’ve played in my memory, more like the PL teams, and we’ve complained long enough that we don’t have our own style of play.
BBM obviously has a long term plan in place and not playing match to match, just to get by.
He’s obviously instilled a lot of discipline which new players will have to fit into. Plus he’s finally increased our fitness levels way above previous managers. Which I’m so pleased to see, as we too often lost games in the last 15-20 minutes in the last couple of seasons where players were blowing out of their ar*ses after 60 mins.
He is building a project and working with what he’s got, and I’m confident he knows which positions he needs to work on or replace. In 6 months or so he’s made huge inroads into turning the club around and it’s not by luck it’s plain to see it’s down to a lot of hard work.
I’m pleased he’s making us play in a style that’s played at much higher levels than we currently are, rather than hoofball of the lower leagues. All being well we’ll get to keep him long enough to see us playing decent competitive football in the championship or PL.

That's a fair summary of where we are at. I just don't enjoy watching it.

It's down to the opposition. Against Burnley, even Chelsea, it was more direct. Unfortunately if teams come with 2 banks of 4 across the back there's not much else you can do. Yes, it is tedious at times, but if we go up I expect we'll see us playing a lot more direct..

I would probably say Dave Jones for the football. Atmosphere later than that. This season imo home atmosphere shocking and away fairly quiet and I do believe it's because of the entertainment factor. It's just not exciting football.

Winning is never boring, especially after the 5 years of turgid failed experiments that we've had to endure.

Our finishing might not be very good, BUT THIS SEASON I BELIEVE ITS THE BEST FOOTBALL I HAVE WATCHED US PLAY FOR YEARS / DEF NOT BORING :bluebird: :bluebird:

I actually get excited to watch us again

Wigan were the reason that game was boring
Seemed like they came here accepting defeat before a ball was even kicked
one sided games are usually boring even when there's more than one goal scored

You surprise me Annis, have you an explanation why our support is dead at home and away support subdued? Nobody else seems to have an answer for it. We are top of the league and ground should be bouncing.

Goals are what fans want and they are not getting them, but the football until it gets inside the opposing teams area is excellent, but we don’t seem to have that much quality to finish off the teams.

Goals excite a game, I have said big time that I am not happy with the amount lately.

But because for years we have watched such dreadful football, this season seems amazing, but I do remind myself it is Div 3 and Big money would have to spent of promoted

The thing is we have not seen such good passing before down the City

I am disappointed in our home crowds very.

Re: Winning but it's boring.

Mon Jan 05, 2026 12:06 pm

Well I reckon City will Def get their chance to get their goal difference well up v Orient

Orient have the worst defence in this Division

Orient are on a Terrible run, 1 Win in their last 8 games and included on that is 6 Defeats
They have slipped down to the edge of relegation

NO EXCUSES

Totally get it Barryblues.

The match day experience in these stadiums is poor. the football in neat but they over complicate and become predictable because of the slow build-up play. its Pep football, its everywhere.
If you look at the stats through, we are very poor per game on the ratio of 1. shots taken (high numbers usually), 2. shots on target (about half of shots taken and 3. goals ( poor return from points 1 & 2).
Tends to keep the fans quiet, no blood and guts, no winger being 'outverted' hitting the line and whipping a ball in to our tall striker in the box. I'd love it if we swapped ends with family stand to get some atmosphere going.

I used to watch premier on TV but dont even bother with that any more except maybe an odd game with a Leeds or a villa in it.
The football can be boring as fuuuk there.

Keep the faith brother, watching them young uns develop is lovely to see. Wintle strolling around like Gattuso and Pirlo in one and BBMs got the cleanest trainers in the league, its a good season really!!! :bluescarf:

Strange post.

Why is it strange? because you don't agree with it? Can you explain to me what's exciting about it and why when we are top of league and our support are silent?

It's a weird one, I partly agree with you both, but at the end of the day it's all about winning for me, so I am learning to enjoy it.

Teams are playing 10 players in defence, it is spoiling the games a bit, but that's what happens when you are by far the best team in the League. I doubt teams are playing 10 players in defence against Lincoln.

I can see where Barry is coming from in a way, it’s not for everyone but surely success must be the prime objective. Personally I wish we would play through the middle more instead of everything going out wide. Salech and Robinson when he is on make runs that are not picked up. But I am a very happy bluebird.

It might get more entertaining, mate. We are still early in the learning curve and a few new players, less cup distractions more gaps between games, more time to work on penetrating attacks, keep the faith.

I was expecting the changes to take months, he literally had us playing well the first couple of games.

I get some fans wanted the more excitement but the big difference to last season wasq bulut played it across the back, and back to the keeper but that was about it we are top scores in this division I believe would have scored more had rubin not been injured with his accuracy with free kicks I am 95,% happy and wi be 100% if we sign and good striker and left back on loan.

is the reason the atmosphere is poor it's not for wales games as this segregation is not an issue and more recently the chelsea game.

Agreed. There is no reason that Ninian fans can't be closer to away fans.

Chelsea game had fans close to the away support with no issues. Don't know why Nash is persisting with it.

I have been supporting city for 36 years and the standard of football is simply magnificent. Not sure how anyone can even suggest football is boring? We are scoring goals, dominating and controlling the play and ultimately winning

BBM I am so impressed
