Sheffield Wednesday were blocked from making the loan signing back in August due to the financial difficulties they are in, i know bbm has worked with him before and we are supposedly interested, if we could pull it off I think he would do well here he can play as a 9 or a 10 and is a big unit very athletic

Surely he would get better experience with us
I know Wednesday are championship but with all the off field issues and where they are in the table I can't see them creating too many chances for him and the morale around the dressing room must be at an all time low

Here he would play in a similar system to his parent club and he will get more chances to score

Anyone else heard pompey are back in for Robertson? I think it would be a big mistake to sell him, we look a lot better with him in the side

Re: TRANSFER RUMOUR THREAD (JAN 2026)

Tue Jan 06, 2026 1:23 pm

I can't see any of our players wanting to go to anyone near the bottom of the Championship.

It risks another year in league one. When they could just stay with us, win league one and play in the champ next season.

It all comes down to money. Will Cardiff accept the money offered and will the player get more money. Like us all we work to get paid, anyone will go if paid more.

Portsmouth couldn't afford him in the summer, doubt that has changed now.

Don't see us selling any senior players this month unless someone offers stupid money which is unlikely. Just like in the window before the season started, we are under no pressure to sell players.

But in the summer, we will be tested with significant offers for some players.

WOL are reporting that Charlton are considering going after Robinson

Don't think this is genuine though
we all know what WOL are like

Only City player i could see going is Robinson if hes promised more first team action by a team. Boys look to love playing under BBM + top of the league as well

Just seen the wildest claim so far and if there was any shred of truth to it, it would be an unbelievable statement signing but I think there's more chance of me starting for cardiff Saturday lmao

But the claim from a Cardiff podcast is we are preparing a bid to sign leo castledine on a permanent deal

That podcast seems to make stuff up 9 times out of 10

Yea I think 99% of rumors are just made up, still keeps us all interested for a month

Chelsea only want about £1m for Castledine but as has been said, there are loads of Championship clubs after him.

Not much chance of us getting him.

That Castledine was a handful when he played against us. Brilliant player.

I agree that if anything has miles less pressure. VT knows BBM can be trusted; he won't have to sell, and he can get whoever he wants within reason, but he doesn't feel he needs many, and nor do I and most sensible fans.

BBM did say today left back needs consideration, so I'd expect a top Premier League teams young fullback on loan.

Completely agree the only player we'll let go would be Lawlor if a ridiculous offer came in. A couple of loans left back and maybe striker in. That's all we need.

The Robertson stuff is nonsense, was he a target a month or two ago when he seemed to be on the outs with BBM? Maybe Portsmouth could have had him on the cheap. That's not the case right now

Dylan Lawlor going nowhere! He signed a new contract to ‘develop’ under BBM, and he knows his time will come, at current progression!

The Robertson stuff is indeed ‘rubbish’, and the alleged ‘falling out’ with BBM was simply over BBM not playing players who weren’t up to his fitness levels. It was nothing personal from either side, as we’ve since seen

And the Pompey thing can be dismissed, too! Robertson is too important for us! He came here for opportunities (granted initially in the Championship), has settled, and is playing very well. Pompey, in reality, couldn’t afford him then, and they certainly can’t afford him now! :ayatollah:

Manchester United have decided to definitely loan out Gabriele Biancheri this month.

A number of EFL clubs are interested.

No, but hopefully he'll have bigger fish to fry, and Biancheri being at our game recently was a good sign.

I'm pretty confident he will decide to come here, local family, good style of play, a manager that has a great reputation for developing young players, it's the perfect fit, if BBM wants him.

Agree with this.

Solskjaer, Carrick or whoever they bring in until May will have limited involvement in which academy players go out on loan - unless they want them in the first team setup, which Biancheri won't be.

At a club like us, the first team manager will be involved in stuff like that. But not at a huge club like them. It'll be left to the people in their academy.

There's no concrete information that we are after him but if we are and Solskjaer gets the job, him being there shouldn't make any difference.
