Re: Tonight Cardiff City Embarrassed themselves and it was g

Firstly, I have to say this was a disappointing game and performance from a mix of young and experienced players tonight

Clearly a bigger game for Newpot than it was for us, I felt we were too pedestrian in our play, and we looked like we thought we only had to turn up to win. Sadly, that wasn’t the case, and Newpot took full advantage without looking that good themselves

We did liven up a tad, after Robinson came on, but realistically we didn’t threaten the Newpot defence, our new players didn’t really stake a claim to go with the First Team Squad, and Newpot deserved their result!

Exactly. Who cares. Well done you beat mostly our youth team.

Some on here were getting well excited when we did the same to Burnley, the double standards are as embarrassing as tonight’s performance.
City fans should be hurting after that, not not caring.

Did we deserve to win nope do I care nope, was good to see some of the youngsters experience first team football all that matters is reading home a week Saturday

Tue Oct 07, 2025 9:17 pm

the senior players need to look in the mirror after that performance

I thought the kids done OK considering the circumstances you could see the inexperience in some more than others

but a lot of them were thrown in the deep end tonight so I won't criticise them

Some of the reactions are a bit OTT IMO.

4 kids in a parks game and you'd be up against it.

BBM wants out of this competition and the call-ups at all aged levels gave him the perfect excuse.

Our tactics didn’t work and we still tried the same thing over and over . Pathetic . Why wasn’t there any movement?

Burnley didn't literally play mostly teenagers nd U21s though did they. I am not bothered by the result because we had 6 professiobal debuts including are youngest players ever. They didnt enbarrass us. Well done to them.

Your not embarrassed losing to the leagues worst team at home and to top it off looking rivals who having a party at our expense.
Shocking.

It's a result that one can expect and one that happens all the time when upu take at least 5 1st team players out of team ? There have been complaints about changing players in league costing us games and that's replacing 1st team players with other 1st team players....... tonight we put in a 15 & 16 yr old along with another young debutante ... what's more concerning is bbms fixation on not crossing the ball ala Pep football! Normally play with wide players & no crosses tonight started like that but then changed to playing without width but resorted to getting ball wide with no recognised wide player... the only time looked dangerous was ball played into area even if had patchy accuracy... Pep as moved on from not playing ball to Haaland bbm should consider following Pep again and use Salech as a striker not extra midfielder & only partime striker

Loving the negativity bus tonight. That was akin to a pre-season friendly. It was so important that most of you were watching on Tele

But it is gutting and their was nothing to be positive about tonight

It’s hurtful

As I said on another thread this group of academy players are not up to first team football yet. Maybe if the young players away on international duty had been available it would have been different tonight, but it was too much disjointed, and Newport played more of their usual team so were more in tune with one another and more up for it as they had nothing to lose.

If I was the two history makers and the other debutants i would be disheartened by the comments aimed at them and it is aimed at them as well as rest team! . .because its a team game and calling team embarrassing also reflects on them no matter if its not meant that way.

As putting everyone through now and the majority will never make Championship players

People saying nothing positive came out of tonight, I disagree, we broke our all time youngest player record twice in the same game that to me is a positive and shows the club has a bright future,

My good friend, Sadly BBM won’t get properly backed and has to do it with players that cost us virtually nothing

They should be embarrassed they lost to the worst team in the league. And if they not embarrassed by this then that is deeply concerning. They all will rightly hold themselves to a higher standard than what they performed at tonight, they will want to perform better and hopefully they all learn from it and it improves their game.
But that doesn’t mean they can’t be embarrassed.

County deserved the win. Understand we have players away on international duty, but those there did absolutely nothing

Agree but the naivety / inexperience of the kids meant that the first teamers struggled to gain a foothold. The could have done better though.

we had senior players wintle, Turnbull, chambers, also first team players fish, salech even Robinson in the 2nd half why didn't we put crosses into the box hardly any attacking threat can't blame the kids but we should have had enough to beat a bottom of the league team very disappointing display tonight expect a big improvement for the reading game BBM PLEASE GET OUR WINGERS TO CROSS THE BALL!!!

That’s a lot of good Senior players

Yet we did nothing with them?
