I don’t think most people here have seen him play. Being bought by Chelsea for 19m at that age is a good indication that he’s good though

As pointed out above by someone, the fee was inflated between Chelsea and Villa as a work around FFP.

I thought i had, also and this lad sounds better than the last young one who was supposed to have been the buisness out of london Etete.

That would be a great signing as long as he doesn't get injured, hope Kellyman doesn't ease back, he needs to be fully committed.

Barry-Murphy doesn't allow that, one game chance and they are dropped if they are not flat out, it doesn't matter if you're the club Captain with England caps or a promising loan player from the Premier League, if you're not on it, you don't play.

Cardiff City FC are delighted to welcome Omari Kellyman to the Welsh capital.

The 19-year-old joins on loan from Chelsea for the 2025/26 campaign.

Omari originally came through the Derby County academy before joining Aston Villa in 2022. He made his professional debut for the Villans in the UEFA Europa Conference League against Hibernian in August of 2023, providing an assist for the winning goal.

Following his first Premier League outing towards the end of the 2023/24 season, the creative player left Villa to join Chelsea. He has represented England at international level, and has appeared for the U19s as well as receiving an U20 call-up.

Kellyman is Brian Barry-Murphy's third addition to the playing squad this summer, joining Nathan Trott and Gabriel Osho in South Wales.

Speaking after signing his loan agreement at CCS, Omari said: "I'm happy to be here. I can’t wait to get started.

“I like to make things happen. I like to be forward thinking and get on the ball as much as possible. I want to come here, get some goals and assists and help the team.

"I've been watching the recent games and it's been great to see the exciting players we already have. I'm looking forward to playing with the lads."

He could cover for Rubin if he gets a knock or out wide, sounds like a very versatile addition.

I’d put him straight in for Ashford v Stockport.

He was back in training two weeks ago and is available straight away.

The fact there's just under two weeks until the next game will give him more time to get up to speed and meet the players that aren't on international duty.

He's not worth that despite price paid for him but he's 10m+ that's for sure.... radio Wales just said a bland he's willing to drop to div 1 ? There was several championship clubs after him and they must be wondering why hes picked us?

This guy sounds quality if he stays fit.

I hope for him and without a doubt us that he has got over his injuries.

No idea who he is but if Chelsea paid that amount for him he must have something about him, although there's probably something else in it between them and villa I suspect as there always swapping younger ones for over inflated money. Hopefully he's what we need
