Now Darren Moore is an experienced manager in the lower divisions and he knew, as far as skill levels are concerned, he could not match what we have. But he had to find a way to beat us, and he certainly wasnt going to stick 10 men behind the ball for 90 minutes. Instead his plan was to "Bully us". Bully us on the pitch. Bully us on corners - and basically get in our faces - and it worked!!

The problem we now have is that every other side in the division will have seen that and they will copy what Port Vale did.

It is for this reason I think we need some hard heads and more experience in the side.

Excellent point mate.
Experience in managing these divisions is massive, we don’t have that and we don’t have experienced players.

Tan has given BBM a 3 year contract - If we miss out he might go again - He might have had enough and sort some deal out.
The answer lies in what happens this season and how close we get - but we are stuck with this off the field circus :(

Correct, Tony

Tan has made a decision to gamble on BBM being the (proverbial)Messiah and getting us promoted with the players, mainly youth, that we have

I’m told he has no intention of spending money on players and BBM was aware of that ahead of his appointment, so if he is to bring any players in, it will be on a one in/one out basis

Don’t be surprised (I’m sure most won’t be) if we see some late departures in the transfer window; any mix of the likes of Horvath, Robinson (on very good money), Robertson (apparently looking for a move), captain Callum Chambers (on big money for League One), and potentially even Rubin Colwill

I’m not saying they will all go, but I firmly believe Tan is slashing the budget and trying to take back as much as he possibly can while he can

I think Dalman is relatively out of the loop, although he has self-interest in Tan remaining (9% pa on his substantial loans is not a bad gig, so I’m not sure who his ‘advisers’ are, but they are certainly doing him no favours right now!

He is gambling with our club, and the outcome will have consequences for us (not so much him) for years to come!

I’ll leave you in a better state than when I arrived!”, he promised. That looks less likely now than ever!

Chris, if your info you received is correct and I’ve no reason to believe otherwise then that’s a ridiculous contradiction by Tan.

To cut costs, possibly getting rid of of more players, not bringing in any experience and then expecting promotion is pathetic.

How can that ever work if his goal is promotion?!

I was positive about this season and expected a top half finish with a chance of the playoffs but if this is the case I think mid table is the best we can hope for.

Paul, it’s his contradictory actions that are slowly deflating both club and support. My personal opinion, is that he wanted to sell this summer but the potential buyers fell short of his valuation in the end

The next month will tell how we might fare in this League and I’m optimistic, if not certain of a decent season :ayatollah:

No doubt Dalman has tricked Tan into staying on, he loses another £5/6 million but that all goes straight into Mehmets pocket so he’s more than happy too. This team are young and have talent but nowhere near tough enough to go anywhere in this league. Maybe when we are mid table over Christmas Tan will see the light, I doubt it though. Does the deluded fool actually think we will go up? And moreover then by some miracle think we will be worth £100 million? Strange how we haven’t been for the last few years in the championship. How & why does it go straight into Dalman's pocket? Or do you mean in interest for his loan?

Yes, of course….with that and Dalmans wages, it’s roughly what we will lose this season despite having very supportive fans, again.
