Re: Should the badge change, which one

Mon Jul 21, 2025 7:55 pm

The anniversary badge is simple, clean and modern. I get the nostalgia with the daffodil and dragon but there's too much going on and doesn't fit in with a modern look. You can tell it's aged.

I’m not greedy or demanding of any new owner, so the current one without the worm would be fine! :ayatollah:

I personally like the current badge without the red worm.

I'd also replace the red trim with yellow and then that's a strong, clean badge.

Stands out on the kits and has the tradition of the circle bluebird in the middle.

I did love the daffodil kit as it was when I started supporting the club but it's too busy for today's kit designs. :bluebird:

Sensational  :bluebird: 1

Ignore the VISIT :banghead: but this would stand out and be a clean sharp badge for a fresh start :bluebird:

Love badges like Arsenals recent one just a cannon, Derby the ram, Forest the tree, big bold, visible minimal detail. I love this

All the other badges are dated. Particularly the daffodils and the shield

I’m with you on this one. Last season was the first in a long time a bought some merchandise.

Yeah I agree.

Keep it simple. We just need the bluebird not daffodils and footballs etc.

To much white, the shield taking up no man’s land space. Making the bluebird smaller.

Last years 125 badge a big f**k off bluebird on it. Perfect . Add the yellow trim to that.

59-65 for me. The first one with Cardiff city on. No need to have changed it.

You are hitting the nail on the head regarding 'too much going on' i.e. congestion of detail on a new logo or brand.
The trend is to have designs, badges and logo that are scaleable i.e. so that they don't look exremely cluttered when reprodced on a smaller scale and that they look pretty standard at various scales. (You may remember the classic 'Barclays Bank' eagle logo, which was simplified for that very reason and in this age of apps, websites, letterheads etc).
