Annis, is it right that the South African whilst being very rich is not actually a billionaire himself, but is backed by billionaires ? Therefore its a consortium headed up by this guy as opposed to a single owner like we have had with Tan ?

Re: Some very very good News Regarding NEW OWNERS:

If true it debunks the pheory by many that no one wants to buy our club? "If" it happens there will be a look of envy from championship teams as well as div 1 as takeovers of clubs in lower divisions don't involve billionaires that often! Wont be immediate change but can garauntee they'll have medium/long term plans for club..

He's got a point though Alan. As much as I want this to go though I'm not going to get too excited until it happens.

Also just to add. Not discrediting what Annis and Worcester are posting by the way

Yes hence the "if "but suspect annis as known for awhile what's happening but for obvious reasons couldn't defulge the information ... but now it's kind of come into open but more info will come out?

I really do not believe if this is going through that they have been discussing changing the badge or removing the red seats even though we would like this, there are far more important immediate problems to deal with like keeping our important experienced players and establishing a new budget with the manager so he can bring in the players he wants and needs.

It seems that some people on here are giving potential new owners instructions already.

We’ll all I can say is very good friend of mine who has been involved and speaks to them daily told me the type of things that will happen :bluebird:

Interesting annis if they've paid dalman in full they're not going to quibble to much about the price of club being tauted ? Let's hope tan doesn't do a Mike Ashford and keep moving goal posts! But suspect if dalman satisfied tan would be to.

Don’t think it’s ever been a case that “no one” wants to buy the club as much as Tan has finally been worn down from his ridiculous demands

Does the impending clear out include Wayne Nash? Let’s hope so hey…… :bluescarf:

This is fantastic news!
But, on another note.

Has anyone heard regarding Bale’s teams offer? Are they completely out of it?

No on many occasions people have stated why would anyone want to buy a basket case of a club ect ect... our club as been run down by Tan and some fans for a long time ... but anyway that's in past let's hope this happens

That all sounds great, add in swapping the Canton and Family stand and there will be a huge uplift in atmosphere. Please please happen

Can a badge be changed mid season?

Probably can just like we changed home colours. I reckon it’s unnecessary cost though

Definitely a cost worth paying for.

Agree! I find that an odd statement to make, given the ongoing hatred of the worm badge!

Re: Some very very good News Regarding NEW OWNERS:

How is it an odd statement? Comments like this is why the forum can be unwelcoming to those that don’t post regularly.

How much would a rebrand of badge cost? All publications which include the badge? All merchandise in the shop?

I hate the badge like most but I don’t see the need for huge changes for the sake of a few months. We’ve had to put up with it for years.

If it’s just a change on the players kit then that wouldn’t cost as much.

I've known Annis for a long, long time through following the City, he would NOT commit to such a statement unless this deal was just about complete, but like all financial dealings things can and do go wrong (especially when dealing with a lunatic like Tan) but we're almost there with this one.

The quicker the Malaysian dragon disappears the better in my opinion.

Perhaps we can all be given a little enamel Welsh Dragon pin badge to celebrate the takeover and we can put them over the East Asian Dragon.

I feel that is a tad unfair.

Steve has been a mainstay of this club for a very long time and is an ardent fan.

He was keeping us afloat when no one else was interested and due to his love of the club, has stepped back when bigger spending has come in.

As with many deals before, he is making himself available to help the deals and big up the club.

If on the back of that he gets a bit of money going his way then I say good luck to him.

He was !!!!!!….. as soon as tan came in he just saw the pound signs …… didn’t see much off him regards telling tan no to the rebrand and red shirts … so much for a die hard city fan.,he stayed silent and since tan came in has trapped in millions for himself ,just another one of tans puppets and another one who bent over for tan !!! He’s need going as well as the others but I’ll bet he will work his way o to the new board and now go against tan …..just wait .

As for new owners can’t come soon enough club and fans need it and we need a clean sweep of people all the leeches out !!!

Re: Some very very good News Regarding NEW OWNERS:

What we seem to skirt around with these, very strong, rumours, are names.

Would just like to know if names are known, they are just being kept anonymous so as to not scupper any deal.

Or, the rumours are being fully reported on here and names are NOT known.

Yeah

I can see Tan pulling out at the last minutes, turning us back to red then inviting the Red Brigade leader onto the board.
