Surely, in light of this Bale Consortium, there cannot be ANY fans that would want Tan to stay over Bale coming in?

On another note, do we think Bale is confident because he knows the consortium are willing to meet the asking price, just they want to low ball Tan..... as they should.

Is Bales move to USA a blessing in disguise, may not have been an option if he hadn't gone over there.

i was thinking the same thing,
if Bale signed for us back then he wouldn’t go la and maybe would never have been able to get this consortium together

crazy how life works sometimes

To me it’s all the starting points of the game. As pointed out above, we’re in an awkward spot at the moment. If you use Reading as an example of similar club/infrastructure. They went for in the region of £30m. You’d anticipate we’d be at a similar cost, but have over£100m of debt owed to Tan and Dalman.

Bale and the consortium will want a fair market rate, so somebody is going to have to compromise to get it done.

Bale knows he’s in a no lose situation really. We want change, we mostly want Tan out and he is just stoking the fire hoping he’ll relent and take the hit on his losses. Then comes the conversation with Dalman, if that hasn’t already happened. But I’d gues from Bale’s comments, they’re yet to even properly talk to anyone officially as Tan is hunkered down praying we can go back to back on peanuts.

Although you are right, none of us know who the real buyer is, Bale is just the famous born in Cardiff, Welsh, world class footballer fronting the deal.

Agree that without knowledge of the money men we could be going out of the frying pan and into the fire.

But I would take that chance, hoping Bale would not attach himself to the wrong people.

Hopefully all those that slated him when the Plymouth stuff came out are eating their words.

Maybe that’s why it’s not official that Ramsey has signed for the Mexican team?

I recall him getting slated when he chose LA over us.

Fair bit of slating when it was said he was trying to buy Plymouth.

Player owner, 36 year old Bale in league one :-)

I predict this will die a death. Tan won’t sell until the Sala case is settled, that is going to take years.

There’s another thread that explains that this case doesn’t really matter in regards to the potential sale.

Me too, I think we all would

Fingers crossed it's not Ridsdale with a few americans and some of his other old mates, I don't want any golden ticket schemes :laughing6:

You say that like we think the same way a multi millionaire does. We don't.

But it does matter. As it involves a multi million litigation claim. If the club win the case it could have a huge effect on the club’s finances. If we lose, we are no different to where we are now.

How does it matter? From what I have read elsewhere in these hallowed pages, Tan has farmed out the litigation to another of his companies that he owns, and an money received in litigation will go direct to Tan through that company.

You forget that the club has already received an insurance payout for Sala, again as described among these pages of posts.

Yes, but to be equally fair, it was mainly because it simply didn’t make sense; and subsequent revelations have supported that view

The Sala case has been listed for September and I think it was said that judgment will be given by the end of this calendar year.

It’s a complication but can be easily overcome. Most in legal circles think that Tan will get some of what he is claiming so perhaps any buyers can just make that part of the deal, Tan gets whatever the court orders and we retain the insurance payment already paid out.

I don’t think this issue is a big problem. The biggest problem is whether anyone can meet Tan’s valuation, and that situation hasn’t changed for the last 4/5 years !!

Plenty of things in football happen that ‘don’t make sense’

Did it make sense that Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny bought Wrexham?

Or that Vincent Tan bought us in the first place? There was no link there.

No real link between Modric and Swansea, but he still invested
