Re: Now we've heard from him....

Based on what he said?

Yes he presented well, like some of the stuff he said, and I will get behind him.

But I will reserve judgement as should we all until we see his style and influence set in, around 12-15 games.

It’s a third appointment in a row where majority of us had heard of him. And the last two were disasters and are the reason we are in league 1. I hope BBM bucks that trend. We deserve so much better. But this squad he’s inheriting, including Rambo 3 managers couldn’t get a tune out of them last season. As bad as they were.

I would love to steamroller this league as a club of our size should, that would be amazing. I fear a struggle to ghost a top 6 finish.

Here’s hoping I’m very wrong

Fair comments.

I loved his press conference but the name of the game is what happens on the pitch.

He's got six weeks from Monday to get this team playing his way.

Think he'll need a good start to get the momentum going. Hopefully the fixture calendar next week is kind to us.

Spot On - Unlike what EB had at the start of last season.

I hadn't read the Rochdale Board until now, I'll warn you it doesn't make for good reading

An interesting quote from there...

Sandyman

Should any Cardiff City fan be looking in, BBM was responsible for the worst stat in Rochdale AFC's history:

When we drew at home V Ipswich in April 2021, under the "hugely talented" (quote: David Bottomley) BBM, we completed a run of 17 consecutive home league games without a win - the worst such run in the club's existence. That season, until the victory V Swindon, we'd had one win out of 23 home games in all competitions.

If we listened to Leeds fans about Warnock and Sol we'd never have had those great years.

Horses for courses.

My only concern is that I hate Pep ball even when conducted by the master; his cheap imitators drive me insane and have relegated us.
I hope there is Pep DNA but remember this is Cardiff, and we still hear "launch it" every game.

Seeing us try to play it out from the back, lose it, and concede last season was terrible.

Painful.

Pep is an inspirational manager. But he creates a system around the players he has. I am sure if he lost a bet and had to coach at Cardiff last year, he would have devised something more akin to the ability of the available players. That's his job, to maximise the players. We made them do stuff they couldn't do, and destroyed any confidence in them.

If i had Barca's freakish talent, Bayern's undeniable supremacy, or the best DM, ACM, and striker in the land I would play like City and keep the ball all day long. But we got Chambers, Colwill, and haven't had a striker of note for seasons.

I think BBM knows this
