To be fair I only put it on briefly and should say for balance that apparently there have been good crowds for other games.

 Last I watched was Palmeiras last night they had a fair few fans they are well supported, looked fuller for that one but this one is a bit dull. I’m gonna see what the boca fans are like hopefully bring an atmosphere . It can’t get any worse surely, I’m saying this after what we saw down the city last season  :ayatollah:

There does seem to be some belief amongst a lot of British football fans judging by comments I've read elsewhere that this tournament is below them whereas the rest of the world (Including the rest of Europe) see it as a top level competition to be won rather than a waste of their time. It's not like it's a new competition but it is a very new format for it compared to the last 20 odd years.

So far I haven't been overly impressed but that might just be because it's been very like the group stages of the WC & it will liven up once the knock out stages are reached.

No doubt Liverpool fans are laughing their heads off at 2 of their main rivals being involved in this rather than preparing for the new season.

The point I thought it was a joke is when I found out that Inter Miami were in it, yet LA Galaxy (the actual MLS Cup winners, as I'm sure you'll know due to your location) didn't get in.

That just didn't add up to me.

There's definitely been some shenanigans as far as qualification for the whole thing but that's down to wanting Messi to be in the competition, no idea why. Hopefully they sort out real qualifications for the next time rather than choosing who they (FIFA) want to be there. I pay 0% attention to the MLS and who wins what, the level of play isn't great from what I have actually seen.

As for the Chelsea v LA match, they didn't expect any more than 25,000 to start with. 3pm on a random Monday afternoon isn't the best time to have a game at the start of the tournament, 4,000 miles away from Chelsea & 2,000 miles away from L.A. hardly inspires the fans to travel. FIFA, for some obscure reason have kept everything in house & it shows, I knew zero about this until I saw it mentioned on here, and haven't seen one commercial for it anywhere.

Like I said already, hopefully it will get better once they reach the knock out stages.

It’s surprising they didn’t invite Wrexham

You’ve got to say that Real Madrid have taken it seriously as they paid a fee for Trent so he could play in this competition, I believe the winner get over 100mill aswell and they get to wear the winners badge on the front of their shirt for the next 4 years
