Fully agree - its the usual empty words, spin and bollox from the hierarchy.

You can't tell me they've been scouring the country for weeks, when there are and have been plenty of experienced MANAGERS out there.

It's very straightforward - Emperor Tan has yet again given his orders: get me a cheap coach and yes man again, salary ceiling £100k. Afterall, it's only League 1 - how easy can it be! Oh dear.

If BBM does the business and we're in the top 6 all season, I'll back down and praise him of course.

#Tan out

Why not stop making things up in your mind and just get behind the guy?!?! :?

Sadly, whoever came in was always going to be Tan’s choice and I feel you would be moaning had it been Rambo (stitched up by Ken Choo), Buckingham (another story to come out), or pretty much anyone else

No one knows how he will do in reality; yet the negativity on here is surreal!

I prefer this than boring Nathan Jones.

Boring? He is far from that what a strange thing to say

His football is dire, that’s always been the case.

I bet not many people can name Guardiola’s coaches?

All the coaches at Arsenal?

Who are Slot’s coaches?

Not really the best way to measure someone’s credibility if their job is in the background.

Spot on.

I was dreading Nathan Jones when he was linked. The football would be dire and he always has to be the centre of attention.

Look at how how he acted when he saw the Sky cameras were on him in the play-offs.

People mistook it for passion - but in reality it was just playing up to the watching public.

BBM was not my first choice. But the more I read about him, the more positive I get that he could do a good job.

I'm now quite excited for the new season and nobody on here will change my mind on that.

Ask them what they thought of Enzo Maresca. Bet they'd never heard of him either

Man city elite dev managers

Attilio Lombardo (2012–2013)
Patrick Vieira (2013–2015)
Simon Davies (2015–2018)
Paul Harsley (2018–2020)
Enzo Maresca (2020–2021) .
Brian Barry-Murphy (2021–2024)
Ben Wilkinson (2024–present)

I don't think they give it to anyone

Good point made.

By the way PL2 which Manchester City Development play at (and won the league with BBM) is completely different to our development matches. The standard is another level and no coincidence that many loans from the big clubs in that league are more than competent at Championship level.

I've looked at his record it'd not much different to rizs who took Leyton orient down was coach at youth level Murphy sounds pretty much the same background I will give him 15 games and decide hit.or miss he's not my first second ot even third choice but I'll back.him until game 15 by then we will know how our seasons going

Nothing like Riza.

Barry-Murphy managed over 100 games at Rochdale, Riza didn't get close to that before he took the job with us.

100% !! Another classic from our hierarchy, yes , we’ve taken 2 months to find our man after searching all over Europe. And the result , a guy who managed Rochdale 3 years back . Classic and they continue to take us for mugs .

Don’t get me wrong , I’ll back the guy , but what a joke and nothing has changed.

Many prime examples here of multiple people who will moan at anything.

He hasn’t even been officially announced and there’s a thread full of people moaning because 6 people at Leicester haven’t heard of him.

I will judge him based on his results and the football he has us playing.

Not because someone in Leicester hasn’t heard of him, or because someone thinks he’s ‘Riza 2’ (which he clearly isn’t!)

God help the youngsters if they ever have a bad couple of games if they are brought into the team.

Let’s hope they don’t read the pure drivel spouted by some on this forum.

Have stated multiple times he wouldn’t be my first choice.

But it’s who we have.

We either get behind him or call him names before he’s even announced.

Well you’ve called him Riza 2 already a couple of times.

He may turn out to be, but none of us have crystal balls.

The point is to give him a chance. I doubt that BBM was anyone’s first choice.

Personally I wanted Buckingham.

To be honest I’d never heard of Graham Potter , Steve Cooper and certainly wouldn’t have jumped for joy when Roberto Martinez took his first managerial job at Swansea City respectively.

Frank Burrows was assistant manager at Sunderland before coming Cardiff manager.

Are you offended at me calling him riza 2 ? Are you a human rights lawyer hardly an offensive name ? probably based on more to do with a similarity to riza chosen by Mr tan.
