I think we need better. Squad player, yes. Starting in midfield... not for me.

We’re in league one

Thanks for this, Poirot.

So in somewhat defence

Jamilu left for obvious reasons
Dimi, felt the club messed him around with his contract, and has already left, and from what I understand has found himself a new club back home
Ramsey wanted Mexico after being insulted by the clown that is Choo
El Ghazi I think we all knew he would be off, nowhere near the standard we had hoped and on his wage, he was going to be gone
Meite has hated his time here, and even if for some crazy reason, anyone wanted him to stay, he had his heart on leaving

my only concern is now, New Manager will give all players a clean start, and will need time to judge the likes of Hovarth, Chambers, Etete etc are nowhere near good enough

Who wanted Meite to stay???

I personally would let ralls go.
He did wonders for us throughout his career but he is not as good as he used to be. As for rinomota I think we should let him go too.

Others I would let go is perry ng the keepers willock wintle. Amongst a few others. Another note is Callum O Dowda who might be going to Oxford so I have no idea why some of these players are staying after a season which left us rock bottom of the championship.

But I guess they will get sold eventually.
Need a refresh in the whole club like what Steve morrison did way back.

Glad we are keeping youngsters. But then again clubs will look at them.

Over £6m in salaries taken off the books and nobody is overly concerned about the players not retained

Patrick Debuoys needs to be top of that leavers list...... We lose around £5~6 million of salary, and it doesn't hurt us, insane.

Except Salech the recruitment has been shocking. I know a lot of you think Robertson was good, but the jury is out for who still is a very young player, but recruiting from the Citeh academy is barely earth-shattering insight.

He should be gone for Kanga alone. We didn't get relegated because of Riza, we have recruited terribly for the last 2 seasons and that's why we are in L1.

ITK'ers - Were there relegation clauses in Chambers & Willocks contracts?

I suppose we will say goodbye to CO'D and CR; they must have inserted get-out clauses if a championship team came in for them.

Ramsey told Tan how run a football club the right way. He wouldn't have liked that.

We keep most of that side together and add a couple we will be very strong in league one ,as long as the manager is Good and knows how to use them .

I also believe choo felt his position would be under threat due to the structure Ramsey wanted put in place so did his best to sabotage any deal

Who wanted Meite to stay???

I like meite shame he was hardly ever played as a central striker? He had his best games when came on instead of Salech as the central striker ....how anyone can think he's an outside right come winger I never know but riza thought he was.. maybe div 1 will suit him if he ever plays...

What were the obvious reasons for Jamilu leaving? I never understood why he was frozen out and if it was to do with him falling out with Bulut, Riza and Ramsey had the chance to bring him back. He would have been more than good enough for us in League 1.

That was always my thinking.

And if BBM proves he can coach and manage our team I think we’ll be fine.

The other important thing is if he’s allowed to bring his own staff.

So from that list of players released that is a saving of around £100,000 per week.

On that basis I would be extremely disappointed to lose any of our young promising players

Re: " Retained list confirmed - Aaron Ramsey leaves "

Thu Jun 12, 2025 7:49 pm

As this squad were relegated after finishing rock bottom of the league after only winning 9 league matches, struggled to score goals and with an abysmal defensive record, I have little faith in them getting into the top half of league 1.

I expect a couple of the squad to move on to other clubs and a couple of replacements brought in.
Whether any new players will strengthen the squad remains to be seen.
Also, I assume we may have a slightly smaller squad at this level.

I would prefer wholesale changes to the squad and in
addition I hope the new manager will give a few of the better quality youngsters a chance to prove themselves.

The above list has been put together by someone at the Club - Not the manager as we do not have one

When the manager comes in this is what is going to happen based on previous quotes made by the Club .
Whichever player leaves due to their contract agreement - not needed - loaned out - sold - free - etc ...
The money saved will I believe be given as a percentage to use to get in new players - loan - free - bought .
I Will say that ( 10 ) at least 4 players will be gone by the end of July and another 6 by the end of the 1st transfer window .
That's if we have a manager in place by this weekend - " Coming Weeks " ;)

Tony, I agree. We have players ‘in contract’ who couldn’t be included in the ‘Retained list

Some of those will be sold (where possible) and/or invited to find ‘new clubs

I’m not sure too many are on the ‘crazy’ wages of the past, but some will be and will sit on their backsides rather than play football elsewhere
