Re: Ramsey off to Mexico?

BBC are reporting it as well but it doesn't make sense. Why Mexico? That cant help his Wales career or his home life He doesn't need a lot of money and there are loads of clubs in UK that would sign him on a pay to play basis. He would be a great asset to a club that's been promoted to The Championship. Wrexham (if he could wear that) or more suitable Charlton, which would be brilliantly ironic.

Because his mate Carlos Vela has links to the club and has recommended him.
Also, where else would be better prep for next years World Cup?

It’s being reported they’ve agreed to what he wanted but now he’s decided he may not want to retire which is news to the club

It is also news to Ramsey :laughing5: :laughing5: :laughing5:

Is it?

Thanks for info makes it more plausible.... it is popping up all over sports news outlets can they be wrong? But still begs question why would a club in Mexico sighn a player who played 6 games or so last season friend or no friend... he'll be lucky to get half-way through season before breaking down love him to get to world Cup but can't see it

Whilst I appreciate this is being reported from seemingly reliable sources, this move makes no sense at al

Roger,
Tan and Choo have been f*cking Ramsey about for the last few weeks.

They offered him the worst offer you could imagine

i said yesterday that unless Bellamy has told him that he is not part of the plans, it would be daft to retire from playing if you have had the operation that may allow one more season.

L1 is a thugs league, he wouldn't last 5 games before someone clattered him and broke his World Cup dream.

A semi-fit Rambo is still better than Cullen

This makes sense to me, Mexico should be a slower more technical league and he'll see something different.

This is potentially leading Wales to another World Cup, for goodness' sake. Managing Cardiff City can happen later.

Agree must be better positioned clubs who can offer him pay as u play contract suitable to him...but if true tan needs to get out football today! Can really see purse as manager if this is true

It’s the fact that it’s the other side of the world confuses me. One of the reasons for coming to Cardiff was to come HOME. Can’t see wife and kids figuring into this.

The warmer weather makes sense if you’re trying to reduce chances of muscle injuries.

It really is a strange move on several counts but slower pace of football may be better for him but going on how he got injured last season slower pace didn't seem to matter both injuries we slow impact in fact 2nd was no contact at slow pace ... just can see him making WC no matter ehete he plays.

ramsey already gone
makes sense really
cant compete in the high intensity of league 1 football without injuring himself.
thats why before cardiff he went to nice

Agree. Slower pace is no preparation for the WC.

Only preparation he'll get is high altitude if Wales go to Mexico yo play

If Ramsey does go to Mexico the money saved from his wages should be used to get a top manager and coaches .
Then build a squad capable to go back up.

Football is a young mans game, you can't go back after a season, you need to hold onto that dream as long as you can.

I wouldn't care if it was Arsenal calling on me to be the manager; it's one last hurrah. Perhaps the enormity of working at this current Cardiff City has struck home, he could be sacked by Christmas. He isn't ready for the role anyway. Its 10 months, he has done it for 4 seasons anyway, its the career he has chosen.

Say he does amazing at the city and Arsenal come calling in 2 years, it's off to London for him again whilst his family stay home.

He is a bright lad, I'd rather he did an MBA and become our CEO/DoF then he can stay here forever

Rambo was last chance to have someone come in and try unite fans and club . Tan and Choo have ruined this club. I hope someday they will fk off and we can rebuild. I fear for next season.

People saying it makes no sense?

It makes absolute sense.

If he wants to play in the World Cup, he cannot become a manager. If he remains our player then Leafue One is not the greatest for his Wales chances plus more likely to get injured.

So, he needs to play at a decent level and he needs an edge over Welsh players that could take his place....... what better than being fully acclimatised better than anyone else.

Get your point Wayne however it's a hell if a long way to go to do that. Surely there would be options closer to home achieve that.

Just not sure he would have many options on the playing side nowadays. This feels like a mate doing him a solid.

Expect him to go alone, with family staying here. 9/10 months will fly by.

He knows the Cardiff job will be there in the future.

Maybe not under the cold British winters where hamstrings are at risk and fixture congestion.

Mexico makes a lot of sense.

They couldn't afford me. I'd want at least 25 quid a week, which is higher than Tan's budget!

Us fans just want clarity
the board should just give us 4 names as managers who they are/were looking at so we at least get some idea of what style of football we will be implementing in League 1.

I know Tan always choose cheap options and of course now (due to the whole Sala case which wont be resolved until September). But you get quality if you pay for quality and Nathan Jones is quality and if you have to pay up front for him to join us then just do it. The only reason for Jones not coming to us is because Tan wants to pay in installments to charlton for 5 years but charlton want it up front in order to buy new players in the newly promoted side.

At the end of the day its all about money and we fans know how Tan spends it and it's nowhere near to benefit the club.
