Wouldn't be my choice at all. Just looks like the cheap option yet again. However if he is the new manager I'll be fully behind him.
Also you never know, this could work out! Lol

People are being very disingenuous about rambo? Yes he's inexperienced but they're have been numerous cases of similar appointments going on to be successful...he as played under two excellent managers played at top level would have excellent appeal to players club want to recruit? he did show he learns from mistakes during his 3 games so sure he'll know what players he needs particular in defence and can expect most players Inc Salech to stay.....of course big advantage is he knows club and Tan so won't be a yes man that's for sure and no doubts he wouldn't take job without garauntees... so let's give him a chance the criticism of his abilities is unfounded as they've not been tested yet!

My concern is, we don't have much demonstrated experience of someone fresh into the role having success. In fact, we have proven data that it does not work at Cardiff City. As much as I'd probably hand-pick Ramsey if it was guaranteed success; the reality is he's likely to be re-writing his CV come Christmas if pushed into this (lets be honest) massive challenge.

Looking at the 3 most spoken about..

Des Buckingham: Demonstrated experience of promotion from L1, improving squads, specifically youngsters.
Nathan Jones: Demonstrated experience of promotion from L1, building projects, passionate winner.
Rambo: No L1 experience. No transfer window experience. No wins as a manager.

It's a major punt. As was Riza, Hudson, Morrison.

Agree about last couple of points but neither had the successful newbies like howe/mckenna ect.. but should have added will only work if he gets the backing of good assistants around him like Steve mcfail 4 eg......of course reason it fails at city is like the riza saga he had purse ect as assistant never going to work and tbh other managers we've had suffered similar fate except NW and that is how it should be done a good team helping & not tan!! :laughing6:

I agree with the last statement though. Whoever it is, let’s get behind them and come together as a club.

Really?

Have you ever thought things go wrong?

Also managers don’t want to come here.

Why not?

It could work for sure, but it’s more about the club going for the cheap option yet again!

It’s just the same approach all over which got us relegated in the first place.

Allan you are dead right in what you say, whover we get in experienced or not does not guarantee sucess. If it is Rambo I think he would do a great job, fingers crossed

Rog, I'll be getting behing Ramsey if he gets it (as with anyone else).
Personally, I'd like to see a seasoned 'older manager' as DoF. Wait and see I suppose :bluebird:

Would they announce a new manager today with Wales playing at the stadium? As I imagine the press room amd everything like that is dressed up for a Wales game. Wouldn’t it be better off being on a Monday when the stadium is back to normal.

Spend about 6 weeks, a team of consultants, cash, many interviews

Totally, it's been a circus from day one.
I'll support him if he gets it but can't see it working out if I'm honest.
League one is not a place to learn your skills.

Plenty with a lot more experience have failed in L1.

This experience not experience argument as positive and negative arguments......as I've said previously it's what backroom staff they've got and that includes Pep ect they succeded main because of who helps them...
Rambo be same using riza as an example is wrong rambo is his own man and no comparison to riza is accurate they trod different paths in football.....
Ps Roger that picture is on way now! :laughing6:

I fully agree with most of what you've said and I have a lot of respect for Ramsey but I'd slightly amend what you've said - No one has a clue including Tan!! Only he could waste 6 important weeks of what I'm sure we all pray will be our regaining our Championship status season, looking for a manager only to then decide on the bloke currently acting as our manager!! You couldn't come up with this shit if you were writing a play!!

I would welcome that, knows the club very well as we know, and you need to start as a manager somewhere, so why not with us, being in league one, big pressure to do well, Cardiff being a big name this season.

But I will fully back him, like we all will if he gets the full-time role.

Ramsey being a big name player means we will get more media attention if he becomes the full time manager, and I can see a lot of players will want to play and work hard for him, don’t know him personally of course, but always come across very well, as a player and in his 3 games as a stand in last season, and knows if appointed what his wants next season from his back room and caching staff no doubt and will have targets in mind.

Good luck to him if he gets the job! :bluescarf:

Be well happy with Ramsey as long as he is allowed to have his own back room staff .Wouldnt be against Buckingham either as both hopefully would see good football being played throughout the whole club .Both are young progressive coaches all they need is patience from the fans and backing and no interference from above  :old: :bluescarf:

I’ve seen on X that Ramsey is set to be named but the stumbling block is what he was offered by Choo!! Apparently they are miles apart and Rambo couldn’t believe the offer was so low.

Only what I’ve read

THE SILENCE IS DEAFENING

Fri Jun 06, 2025 4:43 pm

What's happened to the supposed RAMSEY announcement today then?

More guesswork by those who are ITK/have been told/secret squirrel whispers.

It's all getting to be a bit of a massive pain in the arse now really, especially as the three clowns starring in Chipperfield's circus, I mean Cardiff City FC, are as silent as the grave. Silenter in fact.

What an absolute bloody joke and an insult to supporters. Good job the three clowns were'nt in my old mob, The Royal Corps of Signals, because these three can't communicate to save their lives.
