Earnie’s goal v Stoke at Ninian. Can’t remember the year, but it was an awesome stroke from outside the box.

Was that the one where he hit it on the volley when the keeper cleared it? It was about 35 yards out

The memory plays tricks but I seem to recall the clearance came at him at head height and he manged to head it up and as it dropped he volleyed it

Yes that's the one. I knew he headed it up, but thought it was direct from the goal keepers clearance. In fact the clearance was headed back to him by our centre half - Loovens (?) possibly. Not as far out as I thought but still a great goal

Oxfords goal against us a few weeks ago hurt but definitely up there. Hell of a strike.

I've supported City for 57 years from a 14 year old and it has to be Peter King's volley against Middlesbrough at Ninian Park in 1970. I was on the old Bob Bank and was directly in line with the trajectory of Peter's volley right into the far top corner of the Middlesbrough goal. I can still see their goalie rooted to the spot shaking his head in misbelief. I think the goal is still on You Tube.

Me too but my abiding memory of those is someone running along the Bob Bank towards the Grange End with a huge England flag in flames, the cheer that went up was something to behold.
