Which cheating is that?

The hand ball by the keeper.

I admit I do not know how the laws of the game work or what constitutes being in the box or out, but the keeper's feet were in the box when he handled the ball. VAR is there and they decided it wasn't a pen. I guess the laws are open to interpretation?

What is cheating is being financed without restrictions by a petro state government with 115 charges still pending and using your political connections to slow the process down and we all know they won't face much of a punishment.

Tapping up any kid with a modicum of talent. They had more value on the bench than half the championship put together.

Not a fan of Palace but their manager out-thought Pep, their players out-fought citys superstars.

Football won for me

Absolutely spot on, saved me giving a similar argument.

Palace have given a lot of joy to real football fans today.

Amazing in many ways to think that the first time we got promoted to the Premier League we finished about 15 points above Palace who also went up via the play offs.

Palace have remained in the Premier League ever since.

Fair to say that the fortunes of both clubs have been rather different since those days.

I understand the red card woukd have been for denying a goal scoring opportunity. VAR decided it wasn’t. If the goal keeper handles the ball outside the area it is just the same as any other player who handles the ball and is not an automatic red.
May be the VAR should have advised a free kick for the handball and possibly sanction Henderson with a yellow card. In the end it was play on.
I think!

But is it handball if his feet are still in the box?

Var could only say red card nothing else! once said no it was play on as game wasn't stopped at time of incident.... not sure what linesman was looking at but sums up officials this season totally incompetent and come up with rubbish explanations for baffling decisions....only one person in football thought it was not red card...

Was there ever a definitive post-match explanation for the Henderson "handball"

I am still none the wiser. The rules are written for a pre-VAR freeze frame environment.

Buzzing for Palace. Proper football club. Love the FA Cup being taken away from the big boys.

Yes pgmol/var said Haaland was going away from goal so was not denied an obvious goal scoring chance? Henderson should been booked and free kick given under normal rules but as it was missed by officials (how lino didn't see it god knows) var could only decide red card or penalty! My problem with it is Haaland was going in straight line towards goal (all be it was inline with edge six yrd box) it was Henderson who punched ball wide had he not done so Haaland would have pushed ball behond him and be on goal with only defender to beat? So kot sure how came conclusion it wasn't a goal scoring opportunity. :o

Haaland would definitely have got a shot away at a goal with no goalkeeper in it, so definitely a red for me.

But I'm glad Palace won.

Unquestionably he would have but var also said for penalty defender didn't touch ball? But 3 commentators said from angle they saw he did!? Just a typical day for var. :laughing6:
But good to see smaller club win that makes it 45 winners all told...
