Re: Wasserman leading Cardiff City’s manager hunt

By having to appoint a sports agency is yet again an admission of having zero football expertise at board level. And as has been stated, we've seen this all before when an agency was appointed and then their advice presumably ignored by Tan with disastrous consequences with Riza.

So it also looks like this supposed critical "review" was also the usual empty platitudes hot air BS, as any review and effective reorganisation would have meant we wouldn't have to use an agency to find a manager as we would have then had the expertise to do this in house.

And I would also wager that any "advice" that Wasseman suggest will again be ignored and Tan will just do exactly what he sees fit and more chaos.

You'd honestly think a final relegation to League 1 after three disastrous seasons would have taught him something. He won't change. Leopards & Spots.

You don't need a global agency, just speak to people who understand League One and they will suggest a manager.

Bringing in a foreign manager who has never managed in the UK is very risky.

Exactly  just look at the absolute fortunes Man U have thrown at foreign managers and all have failed. Experienced manager who knows the league inside out. :bluebird:

FFS why pay money to a company who will look at europe when there are enough managers in the UK who know these leagues and sall we need is someone who knows about the leagues and know how to get a good manager this sadly does not include the clowns who run our club.

Sadly I think you might be bang on.
Message for Tan: f*k off now, sell up and leave our club alone!

We desperately need competent owners who are passionate, ambitious and have football knowledge.

So we have gone to a football recruiter?

We give them the brief and budget, and they filter through potential candidates to get a shortlist of three.

So, no different from an accountant or production/site manager.

It looks like they realise they are clueless, so it makes sense.

But the massive gorilla in the room is the Teams interview with Tan. Gods knows what happens then.

Spot on here.

They would rely on a brief from Tan as to what the requirements are, and they will be given a round about budget that Tan would be happy to pay.

There are of course though a few problems:

Tan doesn’t have to pay attention to their shortlist

The managers interviewed will have their own styles of football and have their own wants with regards to budget and where the club is heading

They will more than likely (for any reputable manager) want a 2 year contract as a minimum.

Why are we wasting money on restricting ourselves through a company with limited knowledge about our club and League 1, who only have a PERCENTAGE of available managers on their books, instead of making up our OWN minds on selecting THE BEST POSSIBLE MANAGER OURSELVES???

My selection would be Dave Challiner, but I don't think he's with Wasserman. Challiner and other BETTER candidates probably aren't with Wasserman. We are RESTRICTING our options by only going through Wasserman.

How about we make up our OWN minds to select the BEST candidate for ourselves without wasting anymore money through companies restricting us? How STUPID are our board?

It frustrates the shit out of me seeing our beloved club being run like a circus :x. After dipping a toe in and dabbling with relegation for three of the last four season we eventually managed it and in a spectacular and dramatic way by managing to finish rock bottom :banghead: .our sister club also excelled themselves and managed relegation as well.
Same ownership both clubs, what does that tell you about our owners? It's not just bad luck or unfortunate circumstances it's incompetence and a stubbornness not to learn by past mistakes.
Tan won't listen to advice and insists he knows best and is and will carry on in his own pig headed way which is a worrying prospect judging by current upheavals at the club.

Coming weeks..... there's 52 of them in the coming year

Don't panic though... there's another 52 ready to follow those, and I'm sure the calendar makers will bung Tan & co more after that...

They has years of them lined up, ready, just in case.
