Stockport equalise.
Norwood with a penalty.
Sat May 10, 2025 12:53 pm
Stockport now lead 2-1
Sat May 10, 2025 1:00 pm
I have only watched the second half and haven't watched much L1 for 20 years, and it's just as physical as I remember. They do try to play, but it looks even worse than us trying in a higher division against better players.
I am not sure our centre halves will be ready for this football.

Agree, we definitely need a few "old school" new players that can do the physical stuff.

We wouldn't get anything against this Stockport outfit, physical team who can play a bit too.
Sat May 10, 2025 1:06 pm
Refereeing in L1 looks really poor not a lot of football being played a lot of long balls if we can keep salech I think he will do well

Leyton Orient equalise with a penalty.
Kelman with his second goal of the day.
Sat May 10, 2025 1:25 pm
FT: Leyton Orient 2-2 Stockport County
Great game.
Should be a decent second leg on Wednesday.
Sat May 10, 2025 7:43 pm
Just watched the highlights...if that's the standard of officiating we have to look forward to then jesus wept makes some of the championship refs look world cup ready! First goal for LO about 5yards off side, equaliser surely not a penalty as it was ball to hand but equally missed a stonewall penalty previously when Kelman was taken out in the box

Never a red card. He didn't actually connect with the Wimbledon defender.
Should have been a free kick to Jatta in the first place so the referee could have avoided that whole fiasco.

That's what I said to other half..ref doing his job and wouldn't have happened..it looks as if he got him for intent rather than anything else...as for that offside saw it this morning defender wasn't even close to touching ball so how ref missed it do t know yhe explanations for allowing goal was bizarre... simple for lino to know he was offside before ball was played so all that was needed was ref to say defender didn't touch ball so was he offside? But apparently lino confused crackers but that's life...

Not greatly impressed with either Wycombe or Chatlton so far. Hardly stuff to fear dropping down at the moment.

Agreed I found that half a real hard watch thought the quality was awful

Watching this thinking the type of side Neil Warnock built and the way we played would be perfect.

Nathan Jones' style has always been tough to watch, I think some of our fans have a rose tinted view of him.
But he does keep them in games which is why they're in the play-offs.
But if he ever became our manager, I'd give it a couple of months before fans started complaining about the style.
Sun May 11, 2025 7:02 pm
no football being played all up in the air disappointing so far
Sun May 11, 2025 7:19 pm
I believe the rose-tinted spectacles wearers have been our fans, thinking we can play "the right way" without the budget to recruit players capable of playing it.
Jones has always been a pragmatist; we needed a pragmatist. In hindsight, Bulut was a pragmatist, Lamouchi and Harris were also in that camp.
If our squad had half of Charlton's commitment, we'd all think about Swansea and Bristol city away again next season rather than looking where Stevenage is.
After watching bits and bobs of the two L1 games so far it reminds me you have to earn the right to play first, we have too many "artists" who won't fancy this.

The fact that fans were so against Bulut in his first season because of the style of play, is why I think fans would struggle to watch Jones' football.
But I agree with you actually.

Finishes 0-0.
Leyton Orient v Stockport was a much more enjoyable game.
Charlton probably happier with this, but a very low quality match.
Right now, I see Stockport going up.
Sun May 11, 2025 7:44 pm
Let's hope the 2nd leg is a lot better both teams cancelled each other out
Sun May 11, 2025 11:06 pm
Monday - 2nd Leg - Sheff Utd v Bristol City ...KO 20:00 pm .
Mon May 12, 2025 5:51 pm
Second legs this week, starting with Sheffield United v Bristol City tonight at 8pm.
Tie looks over already with Sheffield United 3-0 up from the first leg.
I guess you never know with the play-offs, but can't see Bristol turning it around.

We were the better team especially at their place, but Riza decided he didn't want to win the game. We had an idea what he was like then and if he'd gone sooner we would have escaped the drop.
