must be joking he,d have to be in the premier first and lets be honest for a big guy hes a fanny spends way to much time on the floor looking for free kicks and whinging at the ref....he should just get on with the game.

Sounds to me like he's being touted. Has he refused to sign a contract or something?

Today he wasted so much possession in very silly places. An international player wouldn't and shouldn't do that. We easily have the best strike partnership outside of the premier league but there is so much talent above us who would warrant a callup before Jay its hard to understand why jones has made this comment.

Seriously cant see it happening - A good championship player at best for me

Rooney, Bent, Defoe, Zamora, Cole, Owen, Crouch, Carroll all would be in the squad for me if fit and playing well before I would even consider Bothroyd, Nugent, Kitson and Ebanks Blake but what the hell do I know !

Thats a bit unfair Chief. Jay loves the City and he has stated he now regards himself as a Cardiff boy :D The contracts are being sorted one by one and i am sure Jay does not want to leave!! Sometimes you can pick up on the vibes from certain players :ayatollah: And yesterday he was excellent and i cant see your view that he wasted possession in silly places because he wants to leave  .

An intetresting statistic on Jay's career:-

Prior to joining Cardiff Jay played 188 games and scored 34 goals - thats one goal every 5 1/2 games

Jay has played in 89 games for Cardiff and scored 29 goals - that's one goal every 3 games.

I think it's safe to say his career has turned the corner since joining us and I am sure he would give Dave Jones and the coaching staff huge credit for that. In my view he is a tremendously improved player since he first joined us and has at last got his head in the right place - on his neck instead of up his arse

i know most of you wont agree, but international footy is a problem because the payers are good but no 2 strickers who play for england play club footy together, if he looks at cardiff best attack in championship ( a resionably strong league) and one of the best partnerships with jay n chopps of 2 good players in the country - oh and they both payed under 21 engand.

chuck them both on for a friendly, i can see them scoring especially with the quality balls from midfeild they will be getting.

An excellent shout....and just imagine IF he were to do so against Wales at the Millenium Stadium!!

The place is unlikely to sell out even for England at the moment but they could fill the place twice over if Jay played....and it would keep the Jacks away!!

This has started to stir the lighter side of my humour. I'm sitting here imagining the WHOLE crowd singing in unison:

"Jaaaay-Bothroyd, Jaaaay-Bothroyd!!"

Now (to me) that WOULD be funny

You say Jay didn't play well when he was in the premier league but he's improved 100x since then, even in the short while he's been here he's come on leaps and bounds, Jones and the coaching team have worked wonders with him. When he first came here he couldn't win a header or time his jumps for toffee now he's unbeatable in the air

On that point I agree, he has improved beyond doubt, but the step up is massive Ask, Earnie or Chops.

Re: JAY BOTHROYD FOR ENGLAND ?

I do not see why not as England are not doing well up front and Jay in my view is as good as Davies at Bolton.

He is big and very skillful for a big lad and could not do any worse than for England than the strikers playing now

Head not right and he is too much of a baby to be TOP class

That was bad my friend, hang your head in shame.

Jay in an England shirt? could see it happening maybe as a sub or something but him and rooney partnering up? never.

He's got absolutely no chance as long as Capello stays in charge.
Anyway, he moans about the amount of games he has to play for City, would he really want to have to play even more games??
I would rather he didn't and stayed fit for us :ayatollah:

Also, I think Roger Johnson is long overdue a call up, but I can't see that happening while they have that muppet in charge.
