1st season he turned them around and nearly made the play offs , he had a disagreement with the first board as they sold players and never backed him
Forest fans are complimentary about him, said he's a good manager but was let down by the board, say he'd be good for us.

Better than no manager, hopefully we've not left it too late for a few decent loans.
Bamba was a decent player for us but not a legend imo and there's no saying he'll be a good manager, i doubt if he will make a good manager but we'll find out in a few months when Tan sacks the current manager and the assistant is given a go.

He doesnt stand a chance with Tan then sadly but who knows maybe Tan will prove me wrong

I think it depends on what's been promised to him .

Three players 'on way' according to the same reporter who broke the story...
I hope it happens, as it will not only help the team/squad but also silence a few '
happy clappers' seemingly enjoying their (so called) club's onfield issues

Hopefully the missing pieces to climb out of the relegation swamp.

Of course he's a legend
The fans were singing songs about him
He loves Cardiff irrespective of what he said about those who ran the club
the fans sung songs for most players are they legends too ? , whitts ,Hudson, Morison are more legends than sol
If you don't think sol is a club legend that's up to you but he certainly is
Hopefully you will support the club whoever is in charge as you have said you will

Agree, I must have missed a few seasons, since when was Bamba a legend?? Good news on the potential manager tho.

Just think there's more players worthy of legend status than sol .

No room in football for sentiment. If Bamba had not played for the club we would be accepting him as a number two.
All this crap he understands the club etc, when he didn’t get his own way with the contract was quick to criticise.
We have been here with Hudson and look where that ended up.
Legend no, club servant no, very good player yes and what was needed at that time.
Need to get a decent/proven manager over the line asap.

Very interesting point, I would tend to agree, Legends I would call, Dwyer, Keenor, Buchanan, Morrison, Clark, Stant et al.

Legend definition is a personal thing from the time of you being a fan.
For me it was Jeff Hemmerman, Bob Hatton and the Bennett brothers from first season with my dad.
Stant, Gilligan and Kevin "Usain Bolt" Bartlett who never understood the offside rule! Chops and Bothroyd, even Pikey. Maybe not legends but important to me. For my son, he loves Sol and the last Christmas song because they were his first games.
For me Sol was great for us, seems a genuine guy who felt let down by a contract, come on all of us have been pissed off with our employers or exemployers at some time. The fought cancer and now he looks to be back. Let's be positive he will give everything to make us successful.
For me legendary status belongs to Whitts, wand of a left foot, awesome goals, great servant.

True, legends to me were Alston and Evans, Dwyer and oh Willie Willie Anderson!

Sol captained us to a promotion to the top flight and captained us up there too. Hes unique in that sense so that is good enough to earn him legend status in my eyes. Pure leader and motivator. Exactly what this team and club needs. I welcome that.
Thu Jan 26, 2023 10:33 pm
Sol helped lead us sorry, morrison was captain but sol was like a captain
Thu Jan 26, 2023 10:53 pm
Sol played a little over 100 games for us sorry but no where near a legend.
Thu Jan 26, 2023 11:09 pm
I think its fair to say that the attitude displayed when he was a player at the club was infectious on other players and the fans. I'm hoping he can again bring this to the dressing room and the terraces. I'm guessing he would also fill a defence coaching role as well as his assistant managerial duties.
Thu Jan 26, 2023 11:49 pm
When we turned around relegation , steadied the club then got promoted the following season to the Premier league sol was there as the mainstay of our defence
He's more of a legend , to more people than many of the players mentioned here because we were playing in front of crowds of less than 10000 when a lot of us were younger
From 2016 youngsters supporting CCFC from the Canton will have seen sol bamba playing his guts out for ccfc
And they Sang his name
A lot of the people who can remember when we had legends are dead or in old people's homes
Bluebirds !

Cardiff City transfer news as three new signings to follow Lamouchi to Bluebirds and reunion with Leeds United star ruled out
By Tom Coleman
Cardiff City are closing in on a deal to make Sabri Lamouchi their new manager with Bluebirds fans' favourite Sol Bamba as his assistant, WalesOnline has learned.
Cardiff have been without a permanent boss since Mark Hudson was relieved of his duties almost two weeks ago following a 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Wigan Athletic.
The club have had a large number of applicants, however they whittled down a shortlist of candidates, with Lamouchi, Valerien Ismael and another unnamed manager being actively spoken to.
Former Aston Villa boss Dean Smith is another who has been heavily linked with the role. Cardiff's hierarchy this week set to work on sounding out former Nottingham Forest manager Lamouchi and proceedings have escalated quickly over the last few days.
And in a big boost to City fans, it is thought club legend Bamba would be named as his assistant if a deal gets over the line. Lamouchi worked with Bamba while in charge of the Ivory Coast national team between 2012 and 2014.
Lamouchi to be followed by three new signings
Cardiff City's appointment of Sabri Lamouchi could be followed by as many as three new signings, WalesOnline has learned.
The club are yet to do a single piece of business in this window, although they have now recalled Mark McGuinness from his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday. However, it seems they are now poised to make a breakthrough before the end of the month.

All this talk about Sol being a legend is way over the top.
He was a fans favourite and as mentioned above his personality is infectious.
But as a comedian once said, How come Legend has decreased in value so much, it’s now used to describe a mate unexpectedly coming back from the bar with three packets of crisps when getting a round in.
So Sol, if you do get the job. Get the beers in and surprise us with a few bags of crisps. And be a true legend
Fri Jan 27, 2023 7:31 am
Anyone buying me a packet of crisps is a legend!
