Not because it SHOULD be him but because, in the clubs current situation there is no one else.

Not the time to blood another young manager and not the league position or funds for a 'name' to want to take it on.

We are left with old hands who are out of work and why go elsewhere when there is someone who KNOWS what he is getting himself into.

That reminds me but there is a film I want to watch on Netflix. It's called "A Bridge Too Far".

Thank you Mark, best wishes for the future, I hope you get a coach job in L1 and build your experience and confidence before becoming a good coach.

Why the hell would he come here? Plymouth are on their way to the Championship and will finish above us next season.

I dont think Warnock is the answer, even on a short contract. Let's not forget we've got some decent players, they just need utilising right, a system they believe in and some confidence.

I would bet good money that they have nobody in mind.

Morison sacked with no replacement thought about.

Same with Hudson. The statement on the club website even says they are now starting their search for the next permanent manager.

f*cking clueless.

No to Warnock are people forgetting the relegation, the ES saga, the wasted millions on players, the shite hoofball against one promotion?

Should never have been given the job in the first place

This board are absolutely clueless and I have no confidence whatsoever they will get the new appointment correct

It’s depressing being a City fan at the moment

Dean Smith 7/2 is the early front runner with Warnock at 6/1. Don't believe any of that though.

As much as I've got a lot of time for Mark Hudson as a former player and a decent man, it's been obvious for a while that he doesn't have the know-how to get wins on the board or instill confidence in the players themselves.

I know some may consider it a backward step but we need a proper leader for the remainder of the season and only one name springs to mind. One thing we can't afford to do is appoint another managerial rookie.

Re: Breaking: Mark Hudson gone....

Sat Jan 14, 2023 8:58 pm

Feel sorry for Huds. Nice bloke, loves the city (will always remember his goal vs Derby) & enjoyed him singing about the JB's when we got promoted.
HOWEVER, clearly the wrong appointment and everyone (well most!) could see that except for our fkn useless bunch of clowns that masquerade as a board. They are clueless and should be the ones getting sacked.
Some have said that the 'board' have someone lined up. Maybe so, but it would not be a surprise if they didn't. They are that clueless.
My hopes for 2023 have always been for regime change. This lot cannot have made more of a pigs breakfast of our beloved football club. I'm personally sick of the lies, lack of communication and basically awful running of a potentially massive club.
David Sullivan/Gareth Bale partnership? :thumbright: Another Hollywood buyout? :santa: Who knows? All I know is they could not do worse than this shower. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

So who comes next? To say I don't care is stretching it but it's almost getting to that. I always want Cardiff to do well and although I love my club I want to be more proud of who we are and of our 'status' in the footballing world.

So good luck Huds and good luck to whoever comes in next. You're going to bl**dy need it.
Any chance someone somewhere with a bit of clout can start organising some demos?
I've given Tan the benefit of the doubt but no more now.
Tan out  Dalman out  Choo out

Absolutely nothing, Jules...

This departure was neither a shock or a surprise; but the NW name keeps coming up off Forum

He and Dalman say they haven't spoken; so they probably (as my source suggested two weeks ago) have... :laughing6:

Re: Breaking: Mark Hudson gone....

Maybe left of centre but Ian Holloway would be perfect in my opinion.

Similar in a sense to Warnock in terms of character and think could have a similar impact short-term in just bringing a bit of belief to the lads. Out of work, knows the championship well and has Prem experience. Blackpool, QPR and Palace all played decent football and whenever he was a commentator he always seemed to have a soft spot for us and think he would understand the fans (basically we're a little bit mad and so is he).

He moved to Palace because he wanted to be close to his family as a Grandad - assuming his family are still on teh other side of the Bridge again could be perfect.

His tenure at Grimsby was a bit of a weird situation, he was a share holder and director as well as manager, there was some shady stuff with other investors (not related to Holloway) it was COVID and apparently the whole situation left him a bit disillusioned with football - but three years on perhaps we could be the job that lures him back? He's definitely got something left to prove.

What could be more satisfying for a Rovers fan (other than leading Rovers to the Prem) than leading Bristol's CIty's arch-rivals to the promised land?

Could do a lot worse and the press conferences would be blinding.

nice guy but out of his depth as a manager in the championship...dont know the whys and wherefores as to why morrison sacked and can only guess its was a clash with Tan?
Whatever you thoughts of morrison he at least had a strategy for the longer term and how he wanted us to play..will never know but under him we would probably be bobbing along lower mid table instead of staring relegation in the face

Morison got sacked after Robinson missed a penalty at Huddersfield. Was Morison a yes man?
Hudson gets sacked after poor defending in the 96th minute.
A possible penalty turned down by the ref.
There really is a hairs breath between success and failure.
How does anyone know Hudson was a yes man?
When he got the job he demanded and got an 18 month contract.
He told Tan we needed replacements. We only came out of the embargo
with restrictions.this week..If McGinness had started or Simpson hadn't got injured we would have defended the cross better.
He's an ex bluebird player and I wish him every success.
How many ex managers, are we still paying. McCarthy, Morison and Hudson?
Who knows.?
We, really are a shambles of a club.

It really is a fine line and Mark Hudson (sadly) fell short of what was required at our club

I don't believe Morison was a (so called) 'yes' man; far from it, as his surprise 'sacking' proved..

Russell Slade, who knew his limited 'brief' from the word 'go', is the only of the others I believe was and accepted the label

Personally, I don't believe any of the others were 'yes' men in the true sense either, although I do believe, unlike Morison, they toed the line publicly; as anyone wishing to kerptheir job would

The two (being a 'yes' man and 'workplace aware' are completely different things but many will neither see or admit it; even though most practice 'restraint' their own work lives... ;)

Who or what comes next is potentially the biggest/most important appointment in Vincent Tan's tenure. We cannot afford to drop out of the Championship and with one or ywo forward additions, this squad is good enough to be coached well into safety... :ayatollah:

Because he did the usual bullshit what many of the managers kept saying: “The Squad is big, Full of quality, I am being fully backed by Tan.” etc etc

They have been inexperienced and cheap, just look at the list of many of them.

He couldn't really say much else though. Got to think of the players he has got and their confidence. Imagine he said "the squads not good enough and we need a fair few players in" If he didn't at least look like he believed in the players how would they believe in themselves.
There would have been a shit storm.
Also I'm sure he said we need some more firepower the other day
