Those who say he has a mistake in him? Well name a CB who hasn't.

Jules I don’t disagree with pretty much all of that. My worry is his ability to play the way that our CBS are playing atm and that goes for McGuiness too. Great stoppers who can do a job but (and with respect, this is only my opinion) I’m not sure he’d be able to play / pass out of defence the way that NG and Kipre currrntly do.
Mate this isn’t a negative post just an honest opinion up for dis usdion and as always, I’d love him to prove me wrong as you say he puts 100% inru every game.

No problem mate, everything should be up for discussion. See what you saying about playing out but remember Kipre is off soon and sometimes we need someone just to hoof it.

Ever tried them? I have for a wales game once. Little bit softer, much nicer on the arse.

Nelson has given 100% for us, trained well and always been professional.

Is he good enough for this level and our new style of play? No he isn't.

But as fans do we really have to start slagging our own players off.

f**k sake, show some decorum.

Well said.

Fickle, I’ve said it so many time.

As I’ve hinted on before, there’s a difference between ‘slagging off’ and putting up a balanced opinion there for discussion

Totally agree.

Balanced discussion I’m all over. Slagging off I’m not.

It’s really frustrating because we can be the best fans going. Look at wales until recently.

Problem is we get used to a standard and then that becomes the norm.

We would wank over a player like Nelson early 2000s. Sam would have him captain and he would probably have 7 goals from centre back. But we have seen better so how 100% isn’t enough and he gets slagged constantly,

I’ll drive him up there. Cock thing to say. That used to be reserved for players who were dickheads not someone who puts his body on but line for our club. Ponty normally a class poster as well.

Some unreal comments....

Playing (very slowly and deliberately) through the thirds has left us 2 places above the relegation zone and we are still moaning about Nelson inability to pass. Pass for passing sake isn't getting us very far.
Don't think Madine would have taken the same liberties with Curtis as he did with Perry.

He'll do well for Wednesday.

Nelson is ok in the centre but when we were playing 3 central defenders it didnt suit him he was no good on the left of the right but play him in a back 4 at the centre he is ok I thought Simpson played well against Leeds too

Wtf, I never put that comment :?
Nelson has been a good servant to us and he played well against Leeds. I will say though that he does have mistakes in him and he gives a few penalties away but he’s a good player to have in the squad. Not sure who put that comment under my name but it wasn’t me  :banghead:

Then I apologise. Did seem a weird one from you.

It was under your name though strangely.

Mark Hudson's response to Nelson links

Curtis Nelson has been linked with a move to Sheffield Wednesday.

The Sheffield Star claim the Bluebirds centre-back, 29, could be a replacement for Mark McGuinness, whom Cardiff have recalled from his loan stint at Hillsborough, but are awaiting a FIFA technicality to be ironed out before his return is official.

Nelson has been in and out of the side this season, with preferred centre-back pairing Cedric Kipre and Perry Ng striking up a nice partnership at the back.

When Mark Hudson was asked whether there was anything in the reports linking Nelson to a move to Yorkshire, or simply whether someone had put two and two together and made five, the manager responded bluntly: "Um, you've got your five!"

As things stand, then, there doesn't appear to be anything in that one.
