We have had far worse owners. We have had owners who have done what Tan has done for the last year or so for their whole time all the while not paying for anything and adding debt to the club.

Tan is absolutely shocking at the moment, no one will say anything different but to say he blackmailed is false. He offered us significant amounts of investment but wanted the colours changing to red as it was his favourite / lucky colour. We said eff off he said ok then I won’t invest that money, we said oh actually we want that investment. Some pushed red or dead as an angle which Tan never did but after our trust (and other significant supported groups saying they wanted the investment he changed his mind again. Some (as mentioned earlier Annis and Ian being two) said they didn’t want it. Dave Sugarman completely stopped supporting the club.

We then got promoted due to said investment and had our highest crowds for two generations. Then we started losing and got relegated and suddenly every man and his dog was against the rebrand. Annis and Ian remained against the rebrand hence why they have a moral authority. Many were not and only wanted an excuse not to go, this became more apparent after relegation. Then thousands didn’t go because of the rebrand when on reality it was because they were glory supporters.

Me, I wasn’t arsed about the colour of the kit I wanted to see my club be successful. I did. I wasn’t arsed about the badge change under Sam either but I can understand why others would be bothered by that.

I didn’t attend any of the marches but it was such a divisive issue I wanted blue back. Also part of me wanted to see if all the clowns who said they couldn’t watch us in red (after watching us in red for two seasons) would watch us back in blue or would they find another excuse. Funnily enough they found other excuses. I bet they came back when Warnock was leading us to the premier league and in the prem.

I didn’t watch us in either of our cup finals, play off final or the premier league. The only places I’ve visited who are premier league are those who were in the bottom two leagues late 90s early 00s. I joined the RAF on 2001 and got married in 2006 and from then on hardly went as my wife worked in Specsavers and worked Saturdays.

True that

Yes macca I agree with most of what you say, unfortunately here we have 1000’s of glory hunters in South Wales who would follow almost anything if it was successful, hence our big crowds on promotion but obvious really as first time at top table since 60’s….a tough choice for many but I didn’t go but to be honest I don’t go much either and for whatever reason haven’t much since about 2010 ( kids etc). I guess relegation made it easier to jump on the anti red bandwagon but getting our colours back was important, red wasn’t lucky after all for VT. I do think our fan base could do with a break, after the 80’s and 90’s in the lower leagues with clemo and kumar etc, then Sam who did ok but ran out of cash, then we get a wealthy guy but with little clue how to run a football club it would appear……what’s next? :bluebird:
