We have players who can pass the ball, so I think having Wanock back now would definitely keep us up.
What he as got that Morison and Hudson do not have is experience, and with the players we have now he would do a good job till the end of the season, and then perhaps VT and the board will at last realize that we need an experienced manager in,
Shaun Dyche is still available :ayatollah:

Rog, it's an interesting one, as it was mentioned to me yesterday, which if true, then puts Hudson's position in question

I always remember two Warnock quotes that show him to be a manager of the players at his disposal rather than of a specific style of play...

The first was when asked if he could justufy hus teams playing style, where his resonse was simply, "What? Winning?", and the second, "Did you ever see my QPR side play with Abel Terrabt in it?"

I certainly wouldn't fight his short-term appointment, if it were to happen, but equally I am not sure there isn't some residue from his previous tenure that makes a return unlikely (at best)

Yes Chris it certainy is, but from what I understand VT loves him to bits, if true he is the man who decides

Rog

Vincent Tan certainly did love him but, once he found out how much Neil Warnock had ripped him off over various dubious transfers and how he was trying to do the same again with the Emiliano Sala transfer that "love" quickly disappeared.

Something doesn't sit right about the sala transfer

I admit i am a bit old school and don't get all this clamour about losing or not winning "the right way." What we are doing now is total fantasy, our only saving grace is there are other clubs infected with the same madness.

In the premier league continually giving the ball to Kevin DeBruyne or allowing Harry Kane free shots is a quick way to a hammering but there are none of them championship (or even the bottom half of the prem), the Warnock model works fine.

If it's not Warnock then anyone with a track record as Hudson seems as lost as Etete did yesterday when he met physical championship defenders.

i'd bring him back tomorrow if it was a possibility, i doubt anyone decent would touch us for more than a six-month deal.

If the warnock model worked fine, more teams would be playing it. It didn't work for us second time around and it didn't work when he was at Boro either. No issue with getting the ball forward quickly, rather than pointless passing at the back, but playing off the second ball isn't good enough against well organised teams, as we seen after relegation.

I do agree though that we need someone with more experience than Hudson, but another warnock or mick Mccarthy type manager just puts as back in this position 6-12months down the line.

Not for me, his time was up before he left and he was lost with the squad he had built.
Grateful for what he achieved though

Hope people can count because more and more 2+2 is making 4 not 5. :D

Re: POLL: Would you bring back Warnock?

Nope
Sorry to burst your bubble but having Warnock back on paper seems ideal but in reality with a completely different squad of players and a lack of leadership in the club as a whole I think that his time has come and gone. He did wonders for us dont get me wrong but having him back at his age now would simply not work.

He would probably say that his time at Cardiff was the greatest in his career but i can only see him returning as a spectator rather than anything else in the club.

Plus as a club its better to look forwards than backwards.
Us fans will still have the memories of the greatest players playing for us but that it really. The club will need to look forward in order to get better.

Karl, it seems the clock is ticking; but I'm also hearing Hudson may not leave the club, if/when a new man comes in...

I've sent Dalman a photo of Mark Hudson, so he gets the right person... ;)

At this moment in time, yes.
All I care about is winning games.

Warnock lost his job at city and Boro because the football was shite. The hoofball we were playing was aimless hit and hope football. Teams like Liverpool and man City have players who can create space and accurately ping long balls all over the pitch. There's a big difference between hoofball and longball tactics.

Absolute no brainer.

Can’t really understand why anyone wouldn’t want him in the circumstances.

Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t want him back in normal circumstances and I don’t mean the with any disrespect but where we are as a Club right now this season now needs to be all about staying up and Warnock with his vast experience would give us the best shot at that and the board and owner a chance to have a proper look at where they see this Club going next season and if they want to be part of it or if they want to sell

Under NW city was the best team for getting ball into penalty area quickly and most touches in there... hoofball does not give you those stats unless you think it refers to ball from goalie to centre forward then back to goalie and then back again? As they say cannot score unless you get close enough to do so ....NW was very good at getting his team do this.

or we can do what we do now where wintle plays it back to kipre or the keeper and back again or the wing backs stop at the half way line and then turn back to kipre and keeper
We need wingers like mendez lang or ryan giles and an attacking commitment to take the game to the opposition.

Spot on ..QPR game , it was so slow from the back …easy easy to play against

Re: POLL: Would you bring back Warnock?

Thu Dec 29, 2022 10:05 am

I don't mind this playing out from the back but think it needs to be done quicker and then if opposition press go over the top. They drop back so you start playing out again.

It's all about movement OFF the ball creating space imo.

It's not rocket science football is it?

Re: POLL: Would you bring back Warnock?

Thu Dec 29, 2022 11:00 am

Certainly not. We need more ambition. Besides, I don't think even Warnock could get the required goals out of this lot.
The defence and defensive midfield are not too bad. But, unless we can bring in better quality offensive players to create and score goals, we are down in league 1, next season!

Re: POLL: Would you bring back Warnock?

To me its a massive YES. I agree the football as improved and it is very good on the eye,but look at where we are and where we are heading..There is no better football than Winning football. Please Sharron have a word...

Warnock worked miracles getting us promoted and i'm grateful for that ride, but the squad he then assembled was atrocious and partly the reason why we're in this mess now.

Thats how I see it. Painfully slow and must be frustrating for forwards who get the stigma of being called out over not scoring. Bit more creative thinking and move ball quicker and we not 100 miles away

Re: POLL: Would you bring back Warnock?

I'd have NW as the nuclear option to come in if indeed it looks like relegation is going to happen, he is the Championship turnaround specialist and knows the club.

Whatever your opinion of his style, it quickly gets the ball into the final third and he plays his football there, not hoofball, just direct and a mix of that and how we now play is what's needed. And if that happened, it would just be until the season end whilst VT and co decide if they really are going to have a final throw of the dice and get an experienced manager (and more players) in to build on SM's 'project'.

Re: POLL: Would you bring back Warnock?

Thu Dec 29, 2022 5:30 pm

This crap that warnock plays hoof the ball up is total rubbish he plays to the players he got and the players we had . Because Man City do it is they got billions of pounds worth of the best players Warnock never had that.

We do not know how to win and out of all the managers we have had or ever mentioned I would take Warnock at least he will sort certain players out and we may not get relegated with Hudson sadly I cannot see any other outcome at the moment really worrying times
