Support the club because it's where I was born.

Barry but living in USA for last 20 years via Cardiff (st Mellons), Magor & Cwmbran. Surprised Barry isn't an option as the trains were always packed on game day in the 70s so where would I vote and don't say vale of Glamorgan, it sounds too posh for Barry ?

Your Cardiff history is similar to mine. Born in Glossop Terrace, lived in Llanrumney (moved there from Adamsdown), regularly visited old St Mellons (the Ton Stores), got married and moved to Rumney.

Ton Stores, well that's a blast from the past, Very Young (5-7 ish) used to walk with my Mum (RIP) over there from top end of Llanrumney through the path/gate past old church hall/jumble sale hall to old St Mellons church (with the small baby's grave) then take a right down the small lane leading to "Ton Stores" - summertime cider Ice Lollies stick in my Brain.

Llanrumney was later known as a rough place but in the late 50's early 60's when it was built the community spirit was Brill. I can honestly say that I had a safe and free childhood in those days of innocence. And look back with total fondness and I thank my mum and dad for that.

The op says "further a field" which obviously as a meaning in the context of question " into a field" is a poor attempt at humour as it's not quoted by op.. your response was accurate in the context of poll as was the other 14 people response. :old:
