And there it is O’dowda with a brilliant cross to find Philogene 1-0

GOAL! Cardiff City 1-0 Birmingham City (Philogene 17)

Goal! And what a well-worked goal it is from Cardiff. Wintle with a brilliant through-ball to O'Dowda, who fizzes a cross across goal and Philogene has the easiest of tap-ins at the far post.

Good work by Watters to drag the defender in. Not all about goals.

It was 2 defenders which is what left Philogene to run in with nobody covering him.

Wintle whips in a free-kick, but it's over everyone. Throw-in to Blues in their own half and they can clear.

Wintle clips another free-kick, this time it's a quick one, over to Watters, but he can't get a toe on it to control it. He's just a few inches or so off the pace early on.

Wow, what a tackle!

Deeney plays Hogan through and he is hurtling towards goal, with seemingly only Allsop to beat, but Jamilu Collins comes from absolutely nowhere to tackle him and nick the ball from behind!

Getting a bit physical now. Bacuna and Rinomhota caught up in a scuffle in the middle of the park, the decision goes Birmingham's way.

If we had a goal scorer we'd be out of sight

Watters showing his level I'm afraid

The runs he’s been making have been great.

But you can’t be missing those at this standard.

Bluebirds playing excellent- Watters however lacks the speed and kill instinct.

Watters just seems to be lacking confidence & trying just a little too hard to make it happen with a goal. That first goal needs scoring fast before he runs out of opportunities.

I've tried and tried to be optimistic about Watters but he will be the deciding factor if we win or lose this game.

You can't be missing this many chances at this level

Feel so bad for Watters, just want him to do well. Strikers .iss all kinds of chances (look at haaland the other week !) But he should really score that. He's playing really well as is the whole side so far though. Good first half

H-T 1-0 :bluebird: :bluebird:

Great first-half by Cardiff, could of been 2-3 nil, good football, Watters had a couple of great chances but missed them, over all great half :bluebird: :bluebird:

Excellent half, very enjoyable but we are playing with ten men. Watters misses will be very costly as Birmingham will be better second half. I just don't understand why we buy a new striker and then not let him start?
