For me more distance between the club / staff & fans.

They get further apart from the fans, very sad.

Dibs had one year left on his contract plus extras .

Sadly Another court case to start.

Only my opinion
I never thought Dibs looked fit enough to warm and train the keepers .compared to other clubs goalkeeping coaches.
Nice guy but maybe hes seen better years.

BBC WALES Report
Cardiff City are parting company with goalkeeper coach Andy Dibble, BBC Sport Wales has learned.

It is understood the former Wales international was told by manager Steve Morison his services were no longer required.

Dibble, who began his playing career with the Bluebirds, took the position in 2017.

He is not expected to be on the touchline for Saturday's final Championship game at Derby County.

The move will be a surprise to Cardiff fans as Cwmbran product Dibble, who is 57 on Sunday, first had an association with the club as an apprentice before turning professional in the Welsh capital in 1982.

Dibble made 62 appearances for Cardiff before being sold to Luton Town for £125,000 in 1984, saving a penalty for the Hatters in a man-of-the-match performance at Wembley as they lifted the League Cup in 1988.

His club career also included more than 100 appearances for Manchester City, lifting a Scottish Premier Division title with Glasgow Rangers and two FAW Premier Cups with Wrexham, for whom his son Christian now plays.

Capped three times by Wales, Dibble was a goalkeeper coach at Accrington Stanley, Peterborough and Rotherham before he joined his boyhood club Cardiff, where he has honed the skills of Neil Etheridge, Alex Smithies and Dillon Phillips.

Cardiff have yet to comment.

Apparently its morrisons decision according to radio Wales... no reason given just that he's parting company with club.

Seems to me we are going to bring in a much better goalkeeper and also a new goalkeeping coach!

Tbh not to impressed with Phillips decision making bit suspect smithies seem to have gone downhill despite making brilliant saves and morison can see this.. looks like near total overall from 1 to 11

Nice bloke or not we want a winning team, if he's good he will walk into another job. I like Morrisons ruthless streak, I think he wants to prove himself as a Manager and if he needs better players and coaching staff great let him get the best we can  :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I like the ruthless streak as well. In any business, you surround yourself with the best possible people, if we can get better, get better.

I guess we'd have to pay up his contract or some sort of deal.

Why a court case?
Is he claiming unfair dismissal?

Watch our goalie let in four today. More to this methinks and it'll all come out in the wash.

Dibs was not like that , I have known him since we were kids, he kept everything private and never would say a word of anything that went on at all his clubs, very professional.
Probably cut backs

The leak is someone else… a certain youth player set to be released in a few weeks

If his contract is paid up in full then no court case!

You know that a a fact or a guess...?

Firstly, I fail to see how a youth player would be privvy to the leaked info the day before a game

Secondly, the source of the leak is known to certain people on here but they (me included) have decided not to go public for a number of reasons

Speculation and naming of individuals without being able to back it up in this (and similar) cases is well out of order and could cause problems for innocent people :(

Could be replaced by David Marshall they would have a goalkeeper coach and a reserve goalkeeper all for one wage.

Re: UPDATED: Breaking: “ Andrew Dibble “

Morison is a fkin disgrace in my opinion up his own arse Andy Dibble is a top coach you won’t get any better if your popularity is above Morison your out the door
Look out next season if this is an example of the way to treat long serving team members
Morison wasn’t my choice from day 1 ,
I for one will be picking my games to watch next season he be out by October anyway attitude stinks
Should have grabbed Steve Cooper a proper manager

Our goalkeepers have the worst save percentage in the entire division and have only 7 clean sheets in 46 games, the second worst in the division.

Why pick games? Why not simply stop going if you obviously feel so strongly about what's happened... besides why as he left I be interested to know as you blame morison for this but it's not be stated anywhere else.

I think its funny all the multi's have come out defending Dibble. They seem to know a lot about coaching goalkeepers too. Personally I don't know what makes a good goalkeeping coach I'm happy to leave it to those who know better. But having a pop at the gaffer without any word from him is not right.

Exactly my feelings. Just because somebody is a nice guy and an ex-player known by people on this board doesn’t make them a great goalkeeping coach.

Morison has earned the right to create his own team around him and even if it is something as simple as them not getting on, as the boss he chooses who stays and who goes.

One thing for sure, this isn’t a financial decision because terminating his contract will mean paying it off and getting in a new guy at the same time so even if the new guy is cheaper the cost to the club over the first year will be much more.

I feel sorry for Dibble but I’m in no position to question Morison’s decision. There simply isn’t any room for sentiment if we’re committed to transforming this club and Morison seems to be very focused on what he wants and doesn’t really care who he upsets, good for him because he needs to stick to his guns.

Martin,

You should not be shocked how well liked Dibble was .

I actually thought the other way how all the multi’s always come out to defend what the Committee etc do no mater what , From Sol Bamba, Bennett, Marshall, Dibble, Moore, Etheridge prob Sean Morison next etc etc

And worst season for 20 yrs and worst run for over 100 yrs but will still defend them.

Dont blame you... I just get peed off with all this club bashing with either unsubstantiated crap or people with agendas who spout the same things regardless if its true or not.... morison is entitled to say who he wants coaching goalies or anyone else for that matter afterall it's his head on block if things go wrong playing wise.

Agree. I said in an earlier post that it’s clear that AD was a good bloke and nobody likes seeing anyone lose a job but nobody knows what his abilities are as a coach.
