Can't help but feel Phillips might have done better
LATEST SCORE: READING 1 - CARDIFF CITY
Unfortunately no chance even smithies would be beaten as joà is good player and never going to miss from 1yd ng far to small to be of use against him.

Swift is found by a stonking ball from Ince across the pitch. He nicks it past Drameh on the edge of the box and the free-kick is conceded. Dangerous area, this.
It's cleared. Poor delivery.
Sat Apr 09, 2022 2:19 pm
Close! Swift whips in a free-kick and Joao gets a head on it. Fortunately for Cardiff, his radar is just off.
Sat Apr 09, 2022 2:21 pm
Chance! Lovely, inviting cross from Colwill and Hugill almost meets it for a tap-in header, but it's inches away from his head...

Roll on the summer!

Great work from Hugil. He wins a collision midway inside Reading's half before driving and smashing one from 25 yards - but it blazes narrowly over the top of the crossbar. Good effort.
Sat Apr 09, 2022 2:27 pm
Cardiff break up the right, but Drameh's low cross is cleared easily and Reading reset.
Sat Apr 09, 2022 2:28 pm
Drameh's final 3rd lets him down
Sat Apr 09, 2022 2:31 pm
31mins still 1-0
Sat Apr 09, 2022 2:33 pm
Hoilett given so much time on the ball on the Reading left. He whips in a cross and Bagan has to knock it behind as Ince closed in at the back post.
Sat Apr 09, 2022 2:34 pm
Why are we not closing their players down, come on Morison
Sat Apr 09, 2022 2:34 pm
Sol Bamba on for Boro
Sat Apr 09, 2022 2:36 pm
Another chance for the Royals. Joao lays off Ince from 25 yards but his left-footed effort is skied over the bar.

Wake up Cardiff

This squad just dont want it do they. Zero response after saturday, says it all

36mins gone and Reading deserve their lead

So far absolutely pathetic by Manager and team
Sat Apr 09, 2022 2:38 pm
Massive mistake from Colwill! He gives the ball to Swift 30 yards from goal and the forward runs towards the Bluebirds net. Phillips comes out and smothers the danger brilliantly, though.
Sat Apr 09, 2022 2:41 pm
Hoilett slightly mis-hits a cross and it's headed towards goal - but Phillips gathers well.
Sat Apr 09, 2022 2:42 pm
Stoppage in play as Hoilett receives treatment.
Sat Apr 09, 2022 2:46 pm
1-0 H-T
Poor half by Cardiff, very disappointed

I'm thinking that now, Rog. We are no longer at the races and today's team has one eye on the future with a chance to further assess what we might need for next season
I can't say we're doing badly but it looks pedestrian in game execution
I understand the assessment of others but it's not fair on the travelling support and a cheap goal to concede
HALF-TIME SCORE: READING 1 - CARDIFF CITY
Sat Apr 09, 2022 2:57 pm
Take off Nelson and Ralls now. Both are not up to championship standard.
Doughty playing? He’s been anonymous
Sat Apr 09, 2022 3:00 pm
They are just going thro the motions , a really difficult watch at the moment.
Better finishing and we would be out of the game by now
Sat Apr 09, 2022 3:04 pm
Almost a carbon copy of the goal, but this time Ng can get the ball away from Joao's head.
Sat Apr 09, 2022 3:06 pm
Chance! Doughty with a low cross and Colwill hits it first time - but Nyland saves well at his near post!
Sat Apr 09, 2022 3:13 pm
Big chance for the #Bluebirds - Colwill shoots on goal, but Nyland saves. (1-0)
Neat little pass around the corner there from Ralls to release Doyle, who wins the corner for Cardiff.

I do genuinely feel sorry for the fans that are going week in , week out still. It could always be worse of course but watching Cardiff is sheer pain at times

I agree and it feels like once again we are going backwards, a pattern is emerging after every manager has a good start for us

YES YES
GOAL! Reading 1-1 Cardiff City (Doughty 59)
Goal! Doughty with a great finish!
