Get a grip. We were poor but overall since morisson took over we have improved immensely.
People booing the players and on this message board slagging everything off. Unbelievable!!!
We were all behind them in previous weeks so don't completely go off the rails because of 1 game.

This is the exact attitude the club have “it’s only 1 game” no it’s not, it a match against our biggest rivals, it was a match to try and preserve the 110 year history of no double, we were behind the players because they tried and looked like they cared, today they didn’t care so rightly people are on their backs, they didn’t deserve support today end of.

Agreed mate, Morison always mentions the fans turning up, well we turned up today and were let down massively.

But this is just one game that everyone has gone off the rails. Listen to you all.
Yes we all want to beat the scum more than anything but I haven't heard any boos or moaning in previous games but they are out in force today.
My guess is its the same fans who turn up for the bristol games and leave early or boo or say this is a shit team.
Just stay home next time is probably best

Well I left early today which was the first time in my nearly 60 years watching the city. I told the guy next to me it's time for some form of protest and I thought it was the best way of sending a message. Sorry if you feel that it's a disgrace.

I'll will also be at the Luton game and IF i again feel the club are taking the PISS out of us fans I will do it again. Today we lost our 11th home game of the season something that has only happened twice before in our history. Having said that it's the 2nd occasion since VT has become owner of the club.

This season we have lost ALL our derby matches something that has NEVER happened before in our history and I don't think I'm alone in NOT wanting to play happy clappy with the players at the end of the game.

Disgraceful or not no happy clappy from me.

You support the team for a season not just turn up to scum or bristol and then piss off when it isn't going our way. I'm there for all games for the full 90. I don't leave early or boo after one poor result.
That is what I mean when I say one game. Where are all those so called fans against Preston or Blackburn etc.
I cant understand booing and leaving early...especially after ONE poor game !!!

It's a work in progress and there will be ups and downs. I agree we were poor but I don't understand the fallout after 1 game. If we had played poor until this game fair enough..but we haven't

Beaten by better side. Swans had Better and more talented players. Simples, yes tactics play a part but....

As for fans , they are fickke as fu..
If I was player I couldn't give a rats arse if they clapped or not. Only good as you last game for this sky generation. So fu.... um I'd say.

Lazy to say they didn't try. It's just they got better players.

Ned, you are spot on...!

I stayed well beyond the final whistle today and our 'support' was atrocious from start to end. No volume, no fight (proverbially) and no heart

Our 'support' can blame the players all they like but they need to ask what they did to improve the atmosphere for the game. All I could hear was the 'Jacks' singing and the Bluebird support whingeing from the moment the first goal went in

Massively disappointed with the team performance and with the starting XI; but I'll cover that later

The 'part-timers', who turned up in their droves, created issues with the regulars by not sitting down and then walked out well before the final whistle; amwhicj was actually a relief for us regulars ;)

Been going to watch the city since 1967 and today's performance ranks as one of the worst I've seen, piss poor from the players, shameful.

Re: " Absolute disgrace "

Sat Apr 02, 2022 9:32 pm

Must put in a word about the ref today I thought he was pathetic he allowed them to fall over blade of grass and give them free kick for it... doesnt alter pathetic performance from us but what he did do was allow them to stop game slow it down and blatantly waste time in 1st half..... city players very frustrated by this and certainly didnt help them.

At last reading through this thread - someone who agrees with what I said earlier ie we were beaten hands down by a better team who played to a system which they planned for whilst our team huffed and puffed but weren’t on the same level skill and quality wise as their opponents. IMO none of the players didn’t care it’s just that they weren’t good enough.
It’s a salutary lesson we’ve learnt today; it hurts like heck, but we’ll get the chance to get revenge next season.

Re: " Absolute disgrace "

Sat Apr 02, 2022 10:32 pm

I hate losing but the big question is how many City players were better than the JBs today answer none zero zilch so will have to take it we were fin pants.
Hopefully our manager can rebuild the squad over the summer .

We have tried experienced managers who eventually get sacked then paid off,
Let us give SM a chance to rebuild a squad and improve over the next year and if we do extend his contract.
At championship level we have very poor players earning more in a week than i get for a years pension.
I expect more from my team , if i am expected to support them through the good and bad games then they need to be able to at least pass the ball to a player hold it up.
NOT surrender when a goal down or only play in second half
Scoring in first half dominating a team (especially at home) is expected from fans not playing defensive football, where we hope to get a goal from a free kick corner.
RANT OVER BACK TO THE SECOND BOTTLE OF WINE
See you all at the next home game, well maybe 17000 of you . :bluebird: :bluebird:

EMBARRASSING :(

Re: " Absolute disgrace "

Sun Apr 03, 2022 10:47 am

Yes this was an appalling performance from all bar 1 or 2 players, but we have been pleased with Morison's time as manager, I would think that he will have a right go at them all, he has in previous games when certain players have fucked up, I'm sure he understands what it means to us fans, and will want to put that right straight away. It's all very well saying put all youngsters in but you can't do that when there are other teams fighting for their championship status. I have seen enough improvement under SM to think that when he can get in players that can adapt to his style then we will not see performances like yesterday.
I am suffering with prostate cancer and osteoarthritis of the hip, I managed to turn up yesterday as I have all season bar 3 games, pity most of the team didn't, but I got over yesterday's game more or less by the time I got home in Grangetown. I can assure you that I was hurt by that yesterday, I could have taken that performance against anyone bar Swansea, but some of you should be in my position and losing to that lot would be the least of your worries.

Re: " Absolute disgrace "

Have to disagree with you here, and I usually read and agree with your comments on this board. I tip my hat to anyone who stayed until the end but I personally couldn’t get out of there quick enough after the third goal. If I was Dalman I’d have been waiting in the tunnel to tell the players and staff to grab their gear and get out of the stadium immediately. No warm downs, no showers, no post match analysis, no players lounge. Walk to your cars right now still in your kit and wait patiently with the fans for the queues to clear. Disgusting disgraceful performance. Any booing they heard on their lap of honour was fully deserved and warranted.

Sorry but I just can't agree that the Jacks had "better and more talented players" which is what makes it worse.

Is their keeper better than Smithies ? Is their right back better than Drameh ? Are any of their midfielders better than Doyle or Wintle ? Is their centre forward better than Hugill ? I could go on but it makes me more annoyed as I type

The difference is that all of their players played at the top of their game and none of our players (with the exception of Colwill late on) got anywhere near their best.

I never mind losing to a better or more talented team but on Saturday we were out fought and then, as a consequence, outplayed. We were too passive.

Morison made a massive mistake in team selection (why Harris in ahead of Davies or Colwill, play Vaulks instead of Ralls to upset their rhythm, etc.) but also failed to recognise that this was a big opportunity to sell the club and his philosophy. If we had won or even drawn then he would have had free reign for the rest of the season to try things and build for next season with decent crowds right behind him. Now he has to show a reaction in both attitude and results in order to regain the trust that he had built up previously.

I still think Morison is the right man. He will make mistakes but he needs to ensure that he doesn't make the same mistakes twice. Time for a cool head but a laser focus on what needs to be done in the summer.

Good post PD.

Lots have said the Jacks have better players but I've struggled to believe that.

Morison got it wrong and the fact he has not brought that up tells us volumes. If he chooses the same team or near enough then it is going to require a mammoth effort from them to restore any confidence in us supporters then I don't think that will be enough. That's how I feel.

they had ONE chance to keep those new fans, one chance to put on a show to demonstrate that we as a club are entertaining , can fight for a point or 3 and wont give up.

But instead of that - we capitulated at home to our closest rival we werent beaten - we were hammered and showed zero fight - and whats worse from the Manager down to the players - they had no answer.

Of course they had better players than us. Better than us by a mile that’s why they stuffed us.
They outplayed us, ran rings around us. Whether that’s on the day on not doesn’t matter because it was all about THE DAY for me.

You’re trying to talk about starting different players but that’s all hindsight.
If Vaulks would have started he’d have been murdered on here.

They snuffed out the threat of Hugill and the creativity of Doyle easily. Why?, how? .. because they had better players. A lot better.

I'm not denying the Jacks were way better than us on the day. Nobody in their right mind could say otherwise !!

However, I maintain that if our team had played at their best and The Jacks played at their best I would still have said we had enough to beat them.

I'm not making excuses because I actually think that makes it even worse. As a City fan I'm used to getting beaten by a better team, what I won't accept is that we were beaten by a pretty ordinary team because they were up for it and we weren't.

That's inexcusable.

Yes, now we’re talking the same language.
I couldn’t agree more.

Like I said elsewhere to the players and the club it’s 3 points dropped, to us it’s so much more and after all these years in charge I still believe they just don’t get it!
