ITS GOING TO BE BRUTAL: City Summer clear out will be epic!

Makes you wonder what the average wage of a decent championship player is, surely a £12k wage cap would get you a fairly decent squad (inclusive of loans, youngsters etc)?

Average wage was just shy of 20k a week a few years ago but I can see this being lower now due to the championship finance's after covid etc,a lot of footballers will have to take pay cuts in the summer.

Shows how far out of touch with reality I am . Totally agree in respect of the pay cuts though, hopefully some bargains to be found.

I think losing Vaulks might come back to bite us on the arse. Solid Championship midfielder and we signed him from Rotherham who had signed him from Falkirk who signed him having not played a game for Tranmere. Surely he’s not on £12k+?

Took a while to get up to speed under Morison but I think he’s looked pretty solid when he’s played recently and I don’t see where we’d get a better rotation/close out the game substitute without paying similar wages and a transfer fee?

I have seen nothing in Sang that suggest he is a championship starter. For every manager Vaulks has been in front of him and he is not an attacking wing back

I would keep Will though. According to one site he is on £10K a good solid championship back up.

For me Harris is a 433 wide forward. He work hard tracking back and pops in with goals he should score. He is not a centre forward though and SM loves this 532, but nor is Davies either IMO. Both are wide forwards.

As things stand I would agree.

But I do wonder whether Morison is wedded to 5-3-2. I think he’s playing that way because it suits the players he’s got.

If he gets even more pace at centre back in the summer I can see him changing formation. We’ll soon find out I guess.
