Bagan with a lovely, meandering run up the left but when he tries to play-in Watters, he is offside. Poor from the striker, should have checked his run.

First Flint and then Smithies appear to bring down O'Hare, but neither are given. Cardiff living dangerously here.

On second look, it looks as though the Coventry man has made the most of both interactions...

He was already in mid air before anyone was near him for the first one. Should have been booked for diving.

Top defending from McGuinness and then Vaulks. The former with a big header to clear a dangerous cross before the latter mops up the ball on the edge of the box.

Coventry look lively here.

Steve Morison has already sent Ikpeazu and Hugill to warm up, in deep conversation with Hudson and Ramasut on the touchline.

Wintle wins the footrace to stop Gyokeres getting through on goal. He had to be quick there after Flint had committed himself once again.

Morison said he was giving some players a chance to stake a claim for a first team place. Fair enough, but so far Watters and King
Have done the opposite. King ~ anonomous, and it looks like the nearest Watters gets to a high press is using a large ironing board!!
On a positive Dramah and Bagel doing well.

Shipley wins a header from the cross, but cannot get a clean connection and Smithies gathers.

Chance!

Cardiff breakaway and Vaulks hits a lovely pass over the top to Watters, who belts a volley on the angle. It smacks Simon Moore in the face and goes behind for a corner!

Almost the opener.

Watters off, Hugill on.

Watters, not for me.

Watters didnt work hard enough.
Dont think we will see much more of him unless we have an injury crisis. Well one Morison.

Hugill wins a header to get Cardiff on the front foot, they end up winning a corner.

Flint wins a header from the corner and knocks it into Vaulks' path, but he blasts wide.

Hugill's hold-up play just getting Cardiff a little further up the pitch.

He's made a difference since coming on.

Vaulks 6 passes back to the keeper try going the other way ffs

Drameh massively overhits a cross and it's a goal kick.

Very like the Millwall game. Not much happening either way & a single goal could be all it takes.

OK. They've had their rest... Get Ralls and Doyle on.

Although, I think King has done well. Vaulks' corners are shite.

Give him a break- he was prob the best of a poor midfield in the first half(10 x better than having Pack there).
For me its either Doyle or Ralls on for King at (or soon after) half time.
City must get better 2nd half.
(Just gladI made the 400 mile round trip last week and not tonight! :laughing5: :bluebird: )

Bizarre team selection has produced nothing. Just don't get his thinking. I am pleased its 0 v 0 as picking this side set us up to struggle. The game is winnable if we change the midfield second half and actually have some intensity

What a poor half from us. Our midfield has not got hold of the game at all, and the front two were working off scraps. I don’t like how Watters was taken off prior to half time, yes he didn’t close down once or twice but that doesn’t warrant a substitution. You could see his movement was good when he had that chance saved by Moore. But I will also say that Morison got it wrong in the first place playing him and Davies together, especially with the likes of Flint continuously pumping long balls. At least with Hugill we will now have an outlet for those long balls.
Need to get Ralls or Doyle on at half time, and hopefully after 60 get the other on because our midfield is really struggling without their energy and vision.

King looks totally lost. Vaulks is... well vaulks.

We've wasted a sub by starting Watters when we've got a brand new loan signing (Uche) on the bench. I think him and Davies would be a good pair. Surely he's fit enough for 60 mins?

We need to swap King with Doyle asap but unfortunately only leaves us with one sub.

No high press, no attacking intent, no pressure, no enthusiasm, no speed, no idea.

Wingback afraid to go forward because they know the ball won't stick and they'll be caught on thw break.

King has been absolutely anonymous. Hugill sub absolutely right, I would have swapped Doyle for king at the same time.

So far this is the sort of team and performance that will put us right back in the relegation mix.

With this team the performance was as expected. Like a rabbit in headlights showing far too much respect for the opposition.

Completely agree. Really bizarre decision making.

Have to disagree.

He has destroyed that lad with that decision.

He almost scored twice.

Agree with that. Poor half from us all round but watters is unlucky not to have scored. Good movement for the second chance.

Harsh lesson maybe? I didn't agree with how morison treated Davies after the Bournemouth game but can't deny he has come back much better since. Did seem harsh mind.

Still think that the decision to replace was correct, but it maybe should have been at 1/2 time.

Absolutely bizarre to take Watters off. He has good movement and looked the only threat. If you’re making a change up top, you bring off Davies IMO, especially based on how Hugil and Watters linked up before.

Strange starting 11, strange sub. Hopefully proved wrong
