I'd love us to sign a proven striker but can't see the club going out for one .

We have Collins, Watters, Harris, Davies and now Hugill all as choices up front.

I'd love us to get a pacy winger in

Deal agreed for Keiffer Moore to join Bournemouth for a reported £3.5m fee
TalkSPORT

Bournemouth are set to complete deals for Norwich midfielder Todd Cantwell and Cardiff striker Kieffer Moore as part of a quadruple deadline day swoop, talkSPORT understands.

The Cherries have agreed a £3.5m fee with Cardiff for Wales International Moore.

Cantwell will join on loan with the option of a permanent deal next summer.

Bournemouth are also expected to complete the signings of Newcastle goalkeeper Freddie Woodman on loan and Peterborough striker Siriki Dembele for £1m.

Chris I guessed it would be something like that, so if all being well we will get £5m for him!

Notts Forest turn down 18 Million for Johnson. What do City do ask for 10 million then accept 3.5 million. Who The F is running the financial side of the club.

Well he’s worth more than £3.5m. Simple as that really.

And what wait for £10 mill+ like a few on here think he’s worth?
Or wait forever for a bid of £5 mill?
Or wait until his contract is out and let him go for free meanwhile he sulks about the club putting in little to no effort?

A players value is only what another club will bid.

See Defoe is linked with Sunderland. Absolutely would have given him a deal until the end of the season as he guarantees goals and imagine what our younger strikers could learn from him in training.

Absolutely, Paul

We need to remember a number of factors here, inc. the fee originally paid, the (relatively) poor season he has had outside of a Wales shirt, the club's glaringly obvious need of cashflow, hence the 'up front' fee, and the player's desire to leave

For me, it's an acceptable deal and one that is better for all concerned under the circumstances

I neither wish him well nor condemn him, as I feel he has somewhat thrown his toys out of the pram, but equally he has a relatively short career ahead of him and wants to get the best out of it that he can; be it playing level or finance

Bit disappointed by this but not really surprised as I expected more from Keiffer this season than he delivered but compared to last season the service he was getting was pants. At least we made a profit but on the last day of the transfer window the club now needs to get a replacement in because we ALL know where we will be if we rely on Collins and Harris.

I don't think it's too much for the club to give Morrison £500k for that Middlesbrough striker or offer the Wurzels some money for Nakhi Wells whatever we need a replacement striker in my opinion.

Weirdly, talking to many of the people around me in the Ninian Stand there didn't seem to be much of an outcry for Moore going at this type of price.

Most, like me, would rather keep him but there was a feeling he's "downed tools" and many were worried about the effect that can have on the dressing room, particularly youngsters. All of this was before the game and before we'd even seen Hugill :o

I don't suppose we'll ever know the full story but the move is probably best for all concerned. This is a 30 year old centre forward who's had one really good season at Championship level, if we were buying such a player what would you expect to pay ?

How much did that mc burnie go for was it 18 million or something stupid
Lets just hope the 3.5 million is spent on someone or has that been done with loans we have today

Kieffer Moore is actually at Bournemouth football club and had a medical at 10am.

So if he passes the medical it shows that lies were said about him still injured etc.

Thou i agree with you it was likely that Moore was not injuries It however does not mean a player will not pass a medical if they have an injury It is all dependent on the injury The medical may come back and say he is a couple of weeks away from fitness but not fully match fit
However i suspect you may be right

Think the difference the Little shit McBurnie was only 22 when transfer and scored 22 goals that season The price was in potential Moore does not have much more potential you know what you have by age 30

He downed tools some time ago for whatever reason?

As they say Managers and players come and go but supporters stay the same.

IMO sideways move for him, not guaranteed promotion or to regain his scoring talents. On the other side of the coin just watching the delight on Hugil’s face after scoring was worth the wait. I’d rather have a player who has a point to prove rather than one who appears to be disruptive.

Any fee will reflect his worth which is no where near the 10m from last summer. Good luck to him hope he gets scoring again for Wales but I won’t miss him.

Re: UPDATED BREAKING: DEAL AGREED FOR KEIFFER MOORE

So, we've sold our sulky star striker for £3m. Well done Kieffer for engineering your next payday. £3m won't go far with our rebuild, not that any of it will end up going towards it.
It's a sad state of affairs where fans are wishing him good luck, are we that accepting of player power now?
Maybe if we lost yesterday people wouldn't be in such a good mood this morning? Personally, I find it all a depressing reality of where we're at.
The best striker we've had for years and our only asset sold for £3m..

That’s not very nice fella. I wish him all the best if he goes, the only thing I’m pissed off about is the fee, £3.5m ffs

If it was £5 in the summer, I’d expect 3-4 now. Hopefully we’ll get the add on’s to get the full £5m. All academic really as we’re unlikely to spend anything whether we got £5m or £10m

Gary, I am very disappointed, the club made it clear last year to him they wanted him gone to Wolves, that fell through, due to us demanding all money upfront. From then on Moore knew they wanted shot of him.

I just don’t rate Collins and Harris and the proof is their, they are not good enough.

Sadly this just shows NO ambition at all now at our club.

You saw 20 year old Brennan Johnson play yesterday didn’t you? 7 goals and 6 assists this season and pace. You have seen 29 year old Keifer Moore play this year?

It’s not an accurate comparison, not even close. Your usual twist something to have a pop at the board.

JB1 sadly, I think your absolutely right, and it just goes to show, and prove (if any more was needed) of the depth that our club has descended too, and the clear desperation that it renders in order survive. The next few months, with court cases pending, are going to be pivotal too Cardiff City FC future. This could just be the start?????

There's bit of a difference between a 20 year old scoring 20odd goals and a 30 year old scoring 20. I think 5mill is the bottom end of moores valuation, which is disappointing. But you can only sell for what someone is willing to pay.

On a side note, the jacks completely mugged Sheff United off with mcburnie!

Re: UPDATED BREAKING: DEAL AGREED FOR KEIFFER MOORE

Just hope some of the money goes towards a replacement or good loan striker. On our last 2 performances I would love to keep a couple of loanees on a permanent deal. Yesterday they all showed Keifer what passion and commitment was all about. However we all know the money will likely go towards lining our chairman and his boards pockets.

On his form this season, 3.5m is 3 times what he’s worth. You’re talking about a player who has had one good goalscoring season in his career, and that was at Championship level. And he’s 29. You can’t blame him for taking the opportunity and it’s good business by the club.
