I'm a strong believer in National Service... But don't agree with that Strategy you have come up with.

My idea has always been, If you are coming out of school at the age of 16, and not looking to go into Higher Education or Work, then you should have to go into the Armed Forces to earn your way. No If's, No Buts.

I also believe that if you are out of workfor longer than 2-3 years, and basicly given up on looking and just claiming Job Seekers allowance, then you SHOULD be forced to go in the Armed Forces and pay Tax just like the rest of us.

Yeah that seems a good idea in principle but you know as well as me that once they turn into scroungers then they will think up anything medically to get out of it. You cant get them off there arses into factories let alone the Army.

One other consideration if any kids are called up for National Service then they would not be allowed to to be sent into any action zone. You cant make them fight if they didn't voluntarily join up. That would be immoral and wrong but they could be turned into proper Soldiers though.
But i feel this should only be used for those who have refused an education at School or who once leaving School have not gone into further education (This would also add a deterrent to being thrown out of college) or have a job.
Or if these youngsters constantly are in trouble with the law it might help them instead of constantly the courts wiping there arses.
Oh and anyone convicted of Football related violence should also be called up !! Well that's Annis's board more or less closed down see you all in the Barracks on Monday morning 9am sharp

i think they should do it for unemployed people who havent found a job in a year. alas... cameron is cutting the defence budget so this will not happen any time soon

respect isnt taught at the age of 16... it is what kids learn at an early age from HOME... what their PARENTS teach em and how they lead by example...

I've worked in a few countries in the last couple of decades. I was allowed to because there was a shortage of local skilled people. However if these locals could prove they could do my job I was on my way back to blighty. No argument from me on that score. Its just a shame our government does not apply the same principles here.

I know a number of friends, skilled aircraft electricians out of work. Why because the companies they rely on for work are employing Polish. Its this sort of attitude from our companies who can get away with it thanks to the government of the day allowing them too that there is alot of recentment towards immigrants. Sadly I know a number of companies that are doing it while us skilled Brits are out of work.

Perhaps we should make the immigrants to National Service. I bet that would soon reduce their numbers.
