I think he will be a very good championship player in time but with no experienced LBs at the club for him to follow, think his development will take longer .
Being an ultra defensive side at times with just long ball options , won’t have helped his style of play.
Would pick him ahead of Brown at LB any day .

To me, he’s bang average at this moment. That’s not to say he won’t improve with better coaching, playing style and experience.

think he needs a spell out on loan to a div1 club, needs to build up his physical side to the game as gets out muscled far too easily.

Apparently:

The U23 players are on between £400-£425 a week.

Those that got promoted to the Senior Squad of course had a pay rise, I have been told Bagan is on £800 a week and Colwwil £850 approx.

So to be fair that’s how we would like football wages players to be on max, but this is not the real world.

League 1 & 2 players are on more.

How long will we be able told any quality players that come through, so if offers come in and we are told the players want to move on don’t blame them.

So to be fair Joel Bagan is worth it, but if we have a squad full of these players on these wages in my opinion, Not even the best managers in the world could save us from relegation or challenge for promotion.

We are lucky that their are 3-5 clubs in as bad as way as we are.

Apparently Joe Bennett was on £18,000 a week before his contract ran out.

SO YES BAGAN IS WELL VALUE FOR MONEY :thumbright: :bluebird:

But can we survive on a squad of Joel Bagans??

Annis, if he ends up being a top player and we stay up then fantastic business. It’s a case of sh/t or bust though as we’re not trying him out and blooding him slowly, we’re HAVING to rely on him as our number one Lb and my fingers are firmly crossed

I think he needed another season as a back up or maybe a loan lower down the leagues where he was a regular starter. When he came in he looked great and made some good runs and crosses but like the others his confidence is shot this season. His positioning has been poor and he has allowed players in behind, he has also been out-muscled easily and looks like he needs to add some muscle especially for this league.
I think with the right manager he will come good for us, we under appreciated Bennett when he was here and it is really showing now. It's players like that who we need Bagan to learn from but there is nobody now, and I don't even think Giles is much of a better option as he is fading after a very good start for us. I just think the confidence issue is ruining our squad, we need someone in to give them a lift and this is why I am praying that it isn't Flynn or this crop of youngsters will all go down the same route.
