MATCH THREAD: " CARDIFF CITY v READING " MATCH THREAD

My only concern, and to me it's as plain as the nose on your face. We have a CB and a Midfielder playing at Wing backs. We have two natural wing backs on the bench??

They are not playing as wingbacks they are playing as fullbacks which they are both very good at

Ps they are both center halfs none are midfielders

I'm thinking 3 at the back with Brown and Bowen as wing backs me? If your going 442, then it's gotta be Nelson and Brown as full backsof which I would say neither are capable.

Why the head banging?? I didn't mention McGuinness? I said Nelson and Brown. Anyway, without Morrison, Flint is a liability in a back 2 pairing, so surely a back 3 is required leaving Brown and An other as wing backs.

Quite frankly though, I may very well be wrong and you right. We have so many Centre halves playing, it's a lottery to get them all shoe horned in!

The ball is recycled out to Nelson on the left and he hooks a cross in, McGuinness rises and heads at goal but Southwood leaps and turns it around the corner!

So far on a very rainy day, this is a vastly improved start from a Bluebird team reverting to a back four and with an attack-minded approach...

Bacuna with an important interception. Baba Rahman hit a low cross there and the City man had to track back and clear before it found its target.

Cardiff had the better of the first 25 mins

Giles wins the corner. His cross thuds into the stomach of Rahman and he goes down winded.

Reading creeping into the game without really threatening the City goal, as we appear to have gone momentarily back to man marking

We are still a threat though and another City corner is beaten away

A hopeful ball down the channel forces Laurent into conceding a Cardiff corner. Giles to whip it in.

Pack slings a lovely ball into the box for Flint and he powers a head across the box. McGuinness meets it again, but his header is blazed over the bar once more.

Pack goes in the book, Dele-Bashiru brought down in cynical fashion as he looked to break.

Smithies starts a counter-attack with another superb launch of the ball. Giles drives forward and finds Bacuna on the left, but he loses it, much to the frustration of fans.

We've been the better team so far and deserve to be ahead.


But it has to be said that Reading have been awful.

More excellent build-up play from Cardiff, but nothing to show for it in the end. Brown's cross is gathered well by Southwood.

Cardiff the better team, but not really threatening.

Ralls flies through Yiadom and is rightly put in the book. Nasty one, that.
