Selling the club; he would only be happy doing it if he knew the Club would prosper and I don’t see anyone with money out there or the inclination to buy us or anyone he will like.

The other option is to let us go under the ownership of the Berjaya group ! We might have seen the start of it with the name on the shirt and also the recent addition to the board? He would also be happy because in his mind he’d know the Club would prosper.

Berjaya are a big company and taking us over could be seen as a coup.

Time will certainly tell us that’s for sure. :bluescarf:

Exactly Karl, it certainly would be a big coup for VT to put us under the Berjaya group umbrella, this new guy has been brought in to oversee City moving forward, make of that what you will, I know what I think.

His resume is quite excellent. It does seem that VT is in it for the long run, even if he was not, like you I really cannot see anyone with the money and ambition to take us over.

Jalil currently serves as the Group CEO of Berjaya Corporation, based in Malaysia. Jalil will help to direct the Club in all strategic decision making and planning, working closely with Tan Sri Vincent Tan, Chairman Mehmet Dalman and Executive Director & CEO, Ken Choo.

Jalil has 18 years of distinguished investment career globally, with firms such as Abrdn & Invesco in senior leadership roles in Europe & Asia. Jalil was also Group CEO of Malaysia’s state investment fund, PNB, the youngest to helm the role at 37 years old.

Roger,

I don’t think it’s because VT has lost interest I believe it’s health issues and he doesn’t want to leave it up in the air if something happens.

 :ayatollah:

So without saying it looks as if tan is laying foundations for club to be transferred out of his overall control to another of his enterprises with a long term goal that has not been divulged at the moment..... but will it be revealed to the fans?

Without wishing to pour cold water on this, the late Bob Grogan passed the club to his company Kenton Utilities.
They could not wait to get out once Bob passed.
Different scale I know but worrying for me if true.

Why worrying? Grogan could have passed it on without any thought to how kenton would run club... tan as put in place a financial person from another arm of his organisation? Which we are speculating maybe used to run club for him eventually. Tan appears to be a person that wont let club go to any tom dick or arry .

As much as I want him to stay, £9 - 10 M is a good price.

Sell him and can forget promotion and will alienate fans.... be probably clubs poorest decision in many years...

Spot on ....first 20 goal striker in years for us...the only we will get up is if we have Moore...

Its not only his goals he's integral in way we play and defend that we will miss.

thought the same a few times...one mans enthusiasm for something and acceptance that its a money drain might not be for others... Jack Walker had set up a trust which amongst other things was to provide subsidies for the club from his other businesses for the foreseeable future.... foreseeable future turned out to be about 8 years before the trust decided to stop funds....

You are correct; but it must be remembered that Bob Grogan still had his hand on the rudder right up until his untimely death...

It seems Vincent Tan is (currently) doing similar but with better planning for what might lie ahead...

I can understand the comparison but I don't believe the two post-owner situation would be the same, as Kenton Utilities left City in a very bad position and (for me) disrespected the memory of Bob Grogan, who was taking this club forward at that time :(

I know times are hard but the only way to recover is promotion ..you don t need to spend millions just keep what you have...the other way will set us back years

According to another thread we are ready to unleash the successes of our academy

Typical City touting their assets for sale. Do what Norwich do and state to all comers that our players are not for sale then when you do sell them get a highly inflated price. Murphy is a good example, they did the same with Maddison. Now they are doing the same with Cantwell.

Kieffer Moore is the only reason Cardiff will stay in the top half of the table this season. Our team is absolutely horrendous looking. If he goes we will finish bottom half mark my words.

Out teams not horrendous...try watching some of the teams in 1990s. 3 pass moves were applauded...

The team is decent enough but not on par with the top teams and certainly all relegated teams...

That’s a far too sensible post mate. Some posters should have watched during the Durban years. They were the only times that I genuinely felt like chucking in being a CCFC fan.
