this make my blood boil, so many people bucking the system, ok fair enough there are people are there who are struggling to find work, but there is alot more out there who just dont want it or havent got any work ethicnwhat so ever, if they aint got a job within 6 months take the f*cking benefits off them, they would soon find a job wouldnt they!!

I knew a guy who did 4 days work (for Tesco's) in over 30 years and on the 5th day decided 'it wasn't for me' and has never worked properly before or since. Locally, he is known as Dr Doolittle (or Dr Doofuckall to some). Worse, he thinks it's funny

The one thing that gets me about threads like this is we have people like PhatFrog saying 'he knows a family who are screwing the benefits system' and inciting everyone to hate them without hearing the other side of the story from this family.

It's a myth life on benefits is better than working because if it was everyone would give up their jobs and I don't know anyone who has lived a life on JSA who has bought a property. Also where I live I see hundreds of families on basic income support struggle every Christmas to find gifts for their children and they never go on holiday.

However, there are people who do defraud the system and I condemn everyone of them, but generalising that everyone who claims benefits is a fraudster is quite disgusting no matter how much individuals might think they 'know' about them.

As for the fraudsters who take what they are not entitled to, the answer is more resources to Benefit's Agencies Investigation Department. At present it is woefully under funded and relies heavily on people grassing through the benefit hotlines.

The trouble is with these ‘hotlines’ 95% of the information received comes from people like PhatFrog who think they know what is going on when in reality they haven’t got a f**king clue. Perversely this means that the real fraudsters slip through because the Investigators end up wasting most of their time chasing shadows.

Personally, as a taxpayer, all these potholes etc should be getting filled in.
But if its work that needs doing, then people deserve paying for it. That way

If you have a good job then I can understand why you feel like that. However, many manuel or production jobs are mind blowing and some people might believe they can do better. Also there is a huge problem that it is simply not worth the bother taking some of the lower paid jobs because it amounts to a 90% tax rate as benefits are withdrawn.

That is not the fault of those who find themselves in the poverty trap and at the end of the day they do what is best for them and their families, just like you would if you were in their place.

Quite right mate, the potholes need filling, the people on benefits have got f**k all to do, get them to fill them in.

Who else on here are pi--ed off with going to work while a lot of people are home claiming benefits i believe they should still have to work to get there benefit any opinions.

I'm at home doing f**k all and not getting ANY benefits despite having worked for 43 years, and never claimed any benefits.I had 6 months JSA and now nothingI can't get a job so what makes you think that they can.I'd gladly work so please tell me where all these jobs are so that I can get one.

Cardiff Bus are recruiting mate, I was made redundant twice in 12 months, applied for a bus drivers job and got it, been there 15 months now, overtime available as well if you want it, never driven a bus before I applied, all you need is a car licence, it has it's moments and you miss a number of City games, but if you want work there's your opportunity. I'm 57 by the way

but as for the post above yours, and the women who gets 750 towards a house should be shot, send her home in a box, send the lot back, if i needed help the goverment etc wouldn't even give me 7.50p yet im a british person who has worked and paid tax all his life

I say if they're on the dole for longer than 3 months then they do community work. The same goes for minor or non-violent sentenced criminals. There's so much aesthetic work that needs to be done, why not get these slackers out and do it. If they refuse to do it and do it well, no money. Performance based benefits... simple!

That is pathetic, and just for information because some people seem incapable of understanding this, but it is not only 'British' people that pay taxes in the UK.

This is not a well balanced arguement just the voice of ignorance...

All i was saying is that people who are fit and able to work should do community work to earn there benefits.

The easy answer here is just don't go to work in the morning. There seems to be this mad belief at the moment that benefit life is great. Fact is if anyone wants to give up their job for a life on benefits then I can give you the numbers of a long list of agencies who can all get a long line of "scroungers" who would love to go to work for you.

I live in a place where there are lots of people unemployed, in fact most people. Not so long ago virtually every single person here had a job. You could probably name every person without a job on one hand.
Now though the coal comes from China, the steel comes from China, the cloths we wear comes from China, the talcum powder we rub on our balls comes from China.
