That van was the response from the rest of South Wales..and decided it wasn’t stopping. The Police have been dismantled by successive Govts with the namby agenda. Decent citizens are the losers.

Excuse the pun but it seems like a cop out to me and they should have gone in and sorted it out. However, let's be honest, the real likelihood is they simply didn't have the numbers required and the safety of their own was the major consideration

Chris this type of policing is the norm now when large groups gather and make trouble only need look at extinction rebellion and other large gatherings that as trouble... the same excuse as been rolled out didn't want to escalate incident? Isnt it about time authorities fought back..... fire engines there last night use their hoses to disperse the thugs no danger there except to the morons..... more police stand back more likely you are to get these incidents...... another thing why hold a vigil in an area he was not living and why have a vigil at all as he died of natural causes but these vigils seem to attract violence..

Allan you make a good point but I would be very surprised on so many levels, if the fire service used hoses to disperse the crowd? It's a very European thing to do but it's just not what they would do over here in this litigious and H&S driven age

Chris wasnt really meaning use hose as water cannot more like using them to make the buggers very wet by spraying into air! But think HS as more to do with things as it's very common for Joe public to put themselves in harm's way at incidents while police wait for specialist services to arrive by then can be to late person as died.... now we got animal rebellion blocking mcds centres why are police not arresting them because they are either trespassing or blocking public highway both criminal offences? To say police are toothless is not an understatement all they seem to do now is sit back let things happen and then sit behind a pc and look at pictures/videos of those involved? Then they can knock a door in relative safety to arrest them..

Where have you heard that about 2 dogs being put down? The first video of the dog on fire has been disproven and I struggle to believe there was a further 2 dogs actually set alight.

You can see the orange glow around the dog comes from the van headlights, the same orange glow can be seen on the people's legs walking by.

Residents said wasn't happy with police response? Top dog said we employed specialist units to scene but cant find any video if them engaged seriously with the yobs just a van in full retreat..... we know it's not easy job but only got look at protesters causing havoc to joe public who act with impunity because like Manchester police today who are helping protesters to block works and public highway both illegal acts now protesters know they can do what they like as get help to to things by police..
