Warnock is the main reason we are where we are. Wasted millions, assembled the worst squad we’ve had for years, knew it and left us ASAP.

OK he wasn't able to force his way into the team because of the form of Joe Bennett and his contract has run down and given the financial position of clubs in this pandemic it hasn't been possible to sell him.

That's football you win some and lose some but NW also needed a second keeper and Smithies hasn't been such a bad signing, or Bacuna. He spent big on Bobby Reid but got our money back+ Josh Murphy well with a year left this summer that's a big loss looming.

Cunningham looks a poor signing on the face of it but we needed a LB and overall NW did us proud with the PL income plus parachute payments.

Its not just cunningham though. We consistently seem to lose a lot of money on players. How much we going to get back on Flint, pack and vassel? Plus cunningham, thats around £15mill there that we havnt seen much from our investment and we wont get much of it back. Its been happening for years.

I understand you're not going to get money back on every player but we never seem to make money on players. Zohore is the only player we have made a decent sum on. It is not sustainable and is why we are in debt. Now we are in a position where we have a weak, 1 dimensional squad where there isn't much money available to strengthen. The club have pissed away so much money on poor players.

I accept that but we are not the only club to lose money of players not having a go at the Jacks but back in 2017 the paid £12m for Bony and released him 2 years later, the same goes with Olsson signed for £4m and released, or Baston signed for £15.5m free transfer to Villa. That's over £30m and nothing when the players leave.

Not having a go at the Jacks it just happens to clubs chasing the PL dream if you stay the TV money keeps you going but get relegated and you can lose a lot of money. Your right about Flint, Pack and Vassell but in normal times we could get money for Flint and Pack, how much probably not what we paid.

Every transfer is gamble and its unrealistic to think every signing will be successful or at least make a profit on. But our transfer history has been a shambles for a long time. We don't make money on players very often. More often its paying up contracts, buying players and loaning them out to benefit other clubs or free transfers just to get players off the books.

Swansea gambled to try and stay in the prem and it failed. But they have also sold 3 players for 55mill in the last 2 seasons.

buying players is mainly to strengthen your own team or squad or replace players who are leaving for various reasons most do not get sold on at a profit and yes just like Swansea clubs buy players in the hope it helps to avoid relegation or try to push for promotion or improve them in general...
and we loan players off other clubs all the time .. we have had a 13 million pound player who is of no use to his club in terms of playing for them on loan here this season...not sure why but there is always this waste and profit thing going on here that happens to a much bigger degree at many clubs....yes its frustrating when your rivals have bought players for peanuts then sell them for 10s of millions but they spent a hell of a lot more than us too and made more mistakes bony 12 mill and 80k a week for 22 games... gomis 80k a week and when they moved him on for a free had to pay him 8 mill to leave.....https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footb ... l......and they are just convenient to use as an example but by no means the only ones...

I said Swansea made some bad transfers and that its unrealistic for every transfer to be a success....

Without promotion or player sales you are relying on the owner to invest which increases debt. We have been promoted twice and we are still in a lot of debt. We have also got a team that cant even play basic football. That shows how badly our investments have been.
