Celtic - what is the point of going there ? 4 games a year - the rest are competitive as friendlies. It's no challenge to anyone other than those looking for a final pay cheque.

Dont get me wrong - if you are Scottish then maybe it'll be a calling card you couldnt resist - last time I check How "wasne" Scottish or desperate for the cash

Can't believe people here going for the likes of Pulis and Pearson, what a pair of dinosaurs  tbh if Sol wasn't Ill I'd be happy with him until the end of the season

It's also a chance to managed in the Champions League or Europa League.

That's enticing to managers and you can get a good job if you do well up there.

Brendan Rodgers is proof of that and Steven Gerrard is thought to be first choice for the Liverpool job when it's available due to what he's done with Rangers.

I agree it’s a stepping stone!

Why would he want a stepping stone?

He’s a class manager, Gerrard wanted something easy, like Lampard (who’s now been found out).

If my memory serves me right he left Burnley to be nearer home and his family. So why would he want to go to Scotland. Your earlier take was he wanted a project? Why not us, Capitol City club with great support and Stadium. You contradict yourself throughout, your not Annis in disguise trying to push up hits are you? :ayatollah:

I heard that from Celtic fans , now they do have the money and pull for someone like Howe, who failed at Burnley didn't he ?

It would suggest a very limited ambition. Maybe he’s looked at Brendon Rodgers and thought he might a prem job out of it. Tbf there’s an outside chance, despite the relegation he could be offered a prem job straight off - somewhere like Newcastle - so he could hold out for that

To put that to bed, Eddie Howe doesn't want to move too far from his current south coast base and wants a premier League return

From our club's point of view, he would want too much money in both wages and spending power

He was 'sounded out' (tentatively or otherwise) and an early decision was then to discount him at this time

Feck me - Coleman Jesus H Christ , Id rather Russell Slade and Trollope back with Harris as director of football
Like Neville managing Man city or Gerrard managing Man Utd.

Cameron Toshack, Mick McArthy, who next Donald J Trump with Gemma Collins head of fitness :banghead:

What happened to the good old days..£45 grand a year, and a Ford Cortina. Mind you, top Managers like Eddie would often get a Granada..
