OT: DRAKEFORD 'LOCKS' WALES DOWN FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT!

Stupid and confusing to most people having 4 tiers rather than England having 3, Scotland - dont they have 5 now ?

The new strain has been found in Wales, new strain has shown to equate to more hospitalisations - was it iover 50% more end up going to hospital with the new strain ?

Hospital Covid wards wont be able to cope with those levels of admissions, made even worse by lack of staff. Nurses / Dr's in the childrens hospital have been transferred to help out on the covid ward.

Drakeford is an idiot on most levels from the way he speaks / looks / and his general attitude in terms of looking at least semi professional.

The decision made today though is the correct one unfortunately , we have far too many people in Wales who seems to be a bit thick, who cant follow advice and cant seem to function without getting sh1t faced down the pub.

On a positive not it looks like AZ / Oxford vaccine will be available within 10 days or so. We can produce enough of this as we need and will only be held back by the logistics of getting it delivered to places

It's confusing because of the way the news is reported and read, I think people in the UK just want one set of rules or tiers.
Welsh Tier 2 is different from English Tier 2 - so if you live in Hay on Way and cross over the bridge you are immediately into a different tier etc.

Why is it the Welsh Fire Break and the English have a circuit breaker ? - in any business you usually have 1 library of terminology that describes business practices. When you start using different sets of rules with different meanings - then it leads to Joe Public sticking 2 fingers in their ears and carrying on doing what they want. It needs to be a UK set of rules , adding in a Drakeford / Sturgeon character just leads to additional petty politics/ nationalism and the 'need' to be different to justify their jobs.

The UK needs just 1 PM who is responsible for the whole of the UK or maybe we should have a First Minister of North Wales and a separate one for West Wales as well Mark Dripfeed.

And in terms of leadership - Johnson made the decision and acted immediately. If Drakeford and Johnson were both in receipt of same information , why didnt Drakeford make an announcement earlier or at the same time ? - Drakeford is a follower not a leader. just my opinion of course.

Baffling how far some will go on here to put the Welsh assembly down.

England has announced Tier 4 in some areas, Drakeford has announced Tier 4 across Wales. It's not like he's locked us all down whilst England are taking a totally different approach. If Wales had no powers at all we would be in Tier 4 anyway based on the system Boris is using, but somehow this is an opportunity for some to go on about the incompetence of the Welsh government?

Drakeford as always been a follower in this crisis? Probably only once as he announced something before Westminster all other times its let's wait and see what happens in rest uk! Typical of him was 3 days of xmas c boris said one thing he said another then proceeded couple of hours later to make it law after saying it was just advice. I havent a clue about what is what regarding regulations but luckily keep myself to myself and just carry on and limiting my contact with people done ok so far.

Due to the simple fact that the Senedd's policies with regards to Covid have been far more responsible compared to the chaos in England, support for independence has risen up to 35% the highest ever! Yes Cymru, a non party group supporting independence had a membership 2k back in March during the lockdown and as a result of the Senedd's policies and the derision from Westminster (just like this forum) membership has grown to almost 20k in weeks!

Now inside this little forum bubble of Welsh derision many of you are unaware that there is a country waking up out there.

I'm not a Drakeford or Labour fan, but I know one thing the decisions he makes are what he believes is best for Wales. Look at him, he's certainly not flash and certainly not in it for himself like Johnson and Westminster frauds. He's making what he believes is the right thing to help keep people alive. Where the UK has the highest death rate and cases by far of anywhere in Europe. He is trying to save lives that's all.

Everybody is abusing the government for there handling of this situation but not a single country in the world has beaten this virus no matter what they try .

What is it that the government should be doing ?
Lockdown - people won't comply
Ignore it - spirals out of control
Fire breaks - people go bankrupt

If the public do not comply with simple rules we have absolutely no chance of getting rid of this virus. Personally I think it will take a world wide lockdown with mo travelling whatsoever for probably 2 months to get rid of it

They are trying to beat it and dont want to lockdown but what choice do they have in reality

One simple answer to the idiots breaking rules put them up in the empty hotels for 10days with army keeping them in isolation! Do that soon stop others taking the piss with parties ect... did similar in Australia with students soon sorted out problem..
But one major concern is why are people who are supposed to be wearing ppe and taking extra precautions in work are catching corvid like the 9 in vaccine centre? Its same with police and health boards across Wales something is not right or people are not practicing what they preach?

It's quite possibly because half of the PPE we're given in hospital isn't worth shit... the masks as shown by the anmount of people wearing them in public aren't worth the effort of putting them on and it also depends on viral load. If your working with C-19+ patients for 12 hrs a day then your viral load is obviously alot higher than those who are working from home or are in a job with minimal contact or social distancing is more easy to follow.
