Absolute bollocks. Massive spenders first time we got promoted. Spent very, very badly by an awful manager. The other promoted teams spent less and stayed up with better managers.

He wasn’t going to do that again so second time spent more wisely and a better manager almost kept us up. Another team (Fulham) spent three times what we did and also went down.

Neither time were we whipping boys.

I hate it when people write complete tosh.

He invested over £70 million both times and over £200million since he's been here on the squad alone

Hardly a lack of investment, maybe time to blame the managers instead of the man who has constantly put his money where his mouth is and has us as stable financially as we have ever been.

Be careful what you wish for, look at Bolton , Sheff wed and Portsmouth as a example .

It said in commentary that 46% of all our goals have been from set pieces. I think that sums it up. We have in the main honest hardworking pros at the club but we are workmanlike in everything we do. We're playing a style of football that is neither pleasing to watch nor effective against better passing teams and I no longer believe that the manager has the ability to change it.

Alot of good sense written by Macadee and Thomasblue. Also agreed with most of what Sven said. Some of the rest is, of course, utter garbage.
Without Tan, God only knows where we would be. The only times we have been in the top league (twice) in my lifetime were under him. And Ive been supporting since mid 60s. However, I would like to get a decent midfielder in Jan if possible.
Turning to the manager.
I read somewhere that Harris’ win ratio is better than any of the last 13 City managers!!
We are a team that should challenge for the play offs with Moore back. We are also a team with a very limited midfield. My main gripe with Harris is that he needs to push Bacuna back into midfield and drop Pack. Also get Wilson at 10 as he is very ineffective as a winger. He needs to show a little imagination within the likits of the squad, cos Pack is definitely not the midfielder of a team hoping to make the playoffs. :bluebird: :bluebird:

Vincent tan shut down Cardiff city AFC the bluebirds for 2 and a half years .shameful especially to a club with a colour related nickname.

Re: OVER TO YOU MR TAN

Harris not been backed as much as previous managers due to the amount of money wasted by warnock last season.

Pack
Flint
Glatzal
Whyte
Just to name a few, think warnock wasted alot if money & has had a big knock on effect to Harris spending and having to cut the wage bill

Over a decade of running a proffesional football club at the highest level and multiple others around the world means he has no knowledge at all, smacks of jealously to me that Tan has done what others couldn't.

He is a very successful business man with a very good knowledge of the game from the inside , not just looking in like posters on here who think they know better.

Tan hasn’t been able to have us in court at other people’s insistence nor has he been able to sell players on the cheap. Nor does his regime leak information about goings on at the club.

That’s what I care about when I look at an owner.

The football should follow on nicely. It did when Warnock was our manager.

Thats another issue really. The club is closed info wise and hardly anything is leaked which people do not like .

Tannis the 4th longest serving owner in the championship

People bang on about "Football Men" running the club, how many of the owners of the premier and league clubs are ex players or managers ?

This hes not a football man argument doesn't stick anymore, in fact there is a very good argument that having a proper businessman in charge who is not emotionally invested is actually better for the club in the long run than a guy who will just throw money at it and get the club into financial trouble like certain other owners.

You haven’t got to look very far up the M4 to see how a much better run club operates from a footballing perspective. Why we haven’t looked into this and learned from it is beyond me. With the VT investment and that fact that we are a bigger club the opportunity to have taken us a lot further than them is there to be seen, yet it’s been totally wasted and continues to be so.

Nice for them to get to pay a penny in the pound on their debts.

Better run? Those Americans are bleeding them dry. Wasn’t saying it last season when we finished above them.

To flip that. And ask the question.

What would you prefer?

A football man running the club (Sam was clearly a football man, as was Ridsdale) or a business man (like Tan)?

What Thomas means is that we have had the guys running the club for a while now. Tan delegates to Choo and Dalmam. They are running the club on his behalf. He can be away all he wants. I’m pretty sure he’s busy with the pandemic and that.

By the fact they have been doing it so long must mean they have a certain level of expertise now?

Not the case bar for a few; most accept he came and saved us, made mistakes, learned from them and began the process of stabilising the club and its finances whilst getting us twice to the Premier League in 5 years without killing the club and/or its finances; indeed, the debt is almost gone now ;)

Knock Tan, support Sam. It's up to you; but get the facts right and you'll get some credence :ayatollah:

Couldn’t be worse than Ridsdale.

Ah Mr Johnson, we are thinking of a 5 year contract 25,000 a week.

Seth Johnson stunned silence. Ridsdale takes the silence as doubt.

Ok we can stretch to 33,000 a week but not a penny more.

Nothing to be scared about mate, what could go wrong ?
Im a football man , i played down pontcanna over 300 times and scored a goal at Trelai park in my 20s as a goalkeeper. I have also watched city over 1000 times through three decades and used to collect Panini stickers, That makes me more qualified than Tan apparently . I would do a sterlin job.
I think i will make a bid for the club in the new year, get ready for a bumpy ride

no it does mean youd be a better owner...and the fact youve said that suggests your either not understanding...or do but would rather double down...
Sam... was hands on, he talked football all the time... talked to fans, players, coaches, people at other clubs...
no idea why your comparing Tans knowledge to ours either... when people say not a football man its really not themselves {} fans } they are thinking should be running the club, making decisions or giving advice... its people whose contacts and connections are working at this level ...

To be fair it is over to Tan, if he decides to keep Neil Harris, then he has to back his manager, if he decides to get rid, then he will have to bring in better than Harris, end off :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:
