I fear too that you will be proved correct.

There are only 3 ways this can be prevented and none are realistically even possible:

1. Some serious investment in adding quality (better than what we have now) to the playing staff in January - won't happen,
reasons already done to death on this forum.
2. Team tactics being reviewed and an effective playing system is instigated to bring out the strengths and minimise any
weaknesses in the current squad - recent experience suggests this looks as likely as me becoming the next Pope!!
3. The Jack's performances degenerate to the level we are at - very unlikely as they have an astute tactician as a manager,
and they have hungry, competitive players with guts and pride in their shirt and themselves and who really care about
performing for their fans - everything we lack.

yep they did outplay us....light years ? we are not as good thats for sure..... as for the bit you started off agreeing with.... if your not as good as your opponents your likely to lose...and if you dont show any effort you get hammered or the highlights have lots of great saves and near misses...

Are you surprised at the reaction after the derby?

NEIL HARRIS:

No. Everyone wants to win and you don’t want to lose a derby.

I was clear in my opinion before the game about bragging rights and we got beat. Not surprised at criticism aimed at me or my players at all.

It’s my job to respond on the training ground and make sure the players respond on Wednesday.

But they outplay us every time in recent years, so that suggests that they are indeed a long way ahead of us in almost every department.

I have calmed down Annis but that's not to say I'm not disgusted by the abject manner of the defeat on Saturday. I have watched the Jacks on a couple of occasions this season and before a ball was kicked I thought it was going to be a diffi cult game, Why? because Cooper has them so well organised and without doubt as a team they are better than the sum of their parts. NH decided to go 442 and as a result the Jacks were always going to pass us to death, and they did it with ease, but even then the defending for both their goals was well shall I say lacking.

In the first half Mark Harris knocked the ball past Ryan Bennett and got cleaned out 50 yards from their goal, for their 2nd Lowe was allowed to run 50 yards with the only attempt to stop him coming from Harry Wilson. Where as Curtis Nelson? going backwards into his own penalty area, Why didn't he step forward and clean him out ala Bennet and take a yellow for the team. there were covering defenders so it would have been nothing more than yellow. That's where the passion was missing, do you think Sol Bamba would have allowed him to do that? Blame anyone of 5 defenders for their first but until our defenders learn to do unto others as they do to us we will lose more games than we win.

I don't blame Ralls for getting sent off at least he was putting his foot in but for the performance I think they way we set up made it easy for Swansea and for that I blame NH and that coach of his staff.

Dalman has a decision to make and if I was in his position NH would be gone now. We are not going to get relegated as we need just 8 wins from our remaining 28 games, in contrast we need 17 wins from the 28 games to make the playoffs and I just cannot see that happening.

In Harry Wilson we have a fantastic player at this level but in my opinion NH doesn't have a clue how to get a tune out of him. We need a manager who can get our team organised and playing to our strengths someone who will get a tune out of not just Wilson other proven players at this level including Hoilett and Murphy.

I am definitely not a Harris apologist, but get a grip.

Losing to the Jacks is never easy but lets be fair, they have got the better of us for a while now. I still wouldn't want to be one !!

He looks like he is a streaky manager, I just hope this is not a start of the losing drawing streak.

Its pointless sacking him, i just hope we take the rest of the season to line someone who has achieved something in the game at more than one club. Because its obvious he is not the answer

Get a grip ?
No I f*cking won’t , it might not of hurt you the other day one, one of the most dire Derby performances I’ve ever seen in 49 yrs, the other was 3nil loss under Ole and NO I won’t get a grip, I will say how I feel .

Who said he had to be sacked?

You get a f*cking grip if you support and really care for our club, our pride is hurt .

Ilan bluebird making friends again...!

I'm still annoyed at the performance (not just because it was versus Swansea) but it is subsiding and a win tomorrow night will go a long way to healing the deflating feeling I have after any loss :thumbright:

Re: “ Have you calmed down? “

I can't remember who said it on here, but where are the leaders on the pitch ?

I fully understand the predicament of the modern championship footballer who are paid almost what the elite players were being paid 10~15 years ago as a multiple of average wages. The manager is the boss don't piss him off and bite the hand that feeds you, then when "the king is dead, long live the king" whenever there is a new manager.

The manager is useless, they must know that. Gunnar, Bamba,Hudson, Whitts, Kav, Bellamy would have changed it on the pitch. Gunnar would have told harris to drop in and make up the third man, or for Ojo or Wilson to tuck in more.

Gunnar was a leader, I reckon he'll make a good coach/manger. He was a limited footballer but saw the dangers a second ahead of the opposition and organised for him or someone to be in that space to snuff it out. Whitts and Bellers saw the pass a second before everyone else.
Our manager had to wait for Cooper to tell the press what just happened to him..........

You don't need to be captain to be a leader, I think we have a few moaners, but far fewer leaders.

Given up being angry with Saturday...and listening to Harris.
Big parts of football are energy, passion , commitment and will to win...none of which were there Saturday.
You have to show this for the club and the fans but also for personal pride.
I honestly don’t think the majority of the players on Saturday gave a toss whether it was Swansea or Stoke we were playing and that hurts as much as anything.
And no Harris wasn’t on the pitch but the way Cooper motivated their players for the game says a lot .

Re: “ Have you calmed down? “

Tue Dec 15, 2020 11:10 pm

What was so apparent to me was our complete lack of competence and confidence on the ball when pressed by Swansea. It was generally hoof it away, and give possession back. Curtis Nelson's distribution from the back also needs improvement as far too often the ball is overhit or intercepted. Maybe Benkovic needs a start if only to provide more competition at the back.

We hear the same noise before every derby game, from the club, yes we all are aware of the importance to the fans what the derby means bla bla bla, then the same excuses after we lose and put in an abysmal performance, simply the jacks were better than us,they are better run on and off the field, and have been for a few years

Re: “ Have you calmed down? “

Annis, I didn't even watch the game. Over the past few years I'm sick to death of seeing no passion in derby games. Unfortunately they are dead now like most other derbys in British football.

What I meant was they had the ability to walk through our midfield and defence at will; not just about chances created. Sorry, but I disagree with you on this one; they had a plan on how to beat us, and it worked without them ever looking in any danger. Lets hope we have learned a few lessons and put on a decent showing tonight.

Not really, but i hope I am just starting to get over it. Nice to see the Jacks behind for once - they clearly cannot cope with the snow in Derby.
