Villa 1959/60 season April 16th City won 1-0 to clinch promotion to the old Div 1......Happy Days

First away game was 1971/72 season Swindon April 4th we lost 3-1 Brian Clark scored ours Not so good day....

I was married that day

My first match was agaisnt Sunderland in 1970/71 , we won 3-1 .This was the season we sold Toshack and ended up finishing 3rd .If he had stayed I have no doubt we would have gone up. THATS FOOTBALL !!

The real reason why we lost points after he left I think was that City waited about 7/8 weeks before they brought Warboys in.We did miss Toshack obviously but during those weeks whilst the Dewey's dithered we did'nt score many.Warboys scored 13 goals in only 18 games that season.Toshack scored 8 in 16,we also still had Clark who scored 14 that season.

Bobby Brown scored for us in 1-1 draw.

A very young John Toshack missed a late penalty for us (not sure why it was given to an 18 year old)

First away game Brentford New Year's day 1983 - won 3-2. Sat next to Neil and Glenys Kinnock who lived nearby!

1978-79 Season
I think it was this one. I just remember a team in blue.

First ever match was Wales V England (either under 18's or 16's) in either late 80's or very early nighties - was in primary school see! the tackles were flying in and remember it made me want to play in defence!

First City match was V York, cant remember the score or what year it was! 90's some time.

first football match was newport county v ipswich i think ipswich won 3 0 around 1971/2 first cardiff game was against leeds in fa cup leeds won 2 0 been going ever since i would say best squad weve had in all those years

It was a long time ago but my first match I remember was when we played Gillingham at home and I think Gillingham's keeper was eligible for the Chinese national team!

First ever game:
Wales versus Czechoslovakia, World Cup qualifier, Ninian Park, November 20th 1980. (1-0 to Wales)


First City game:
Cardiff City versus Luton Town, second division, Ninian Park, May 1982, (2-3 to Luton, we were relegated that night)

First away game:
at Bristol City in 1988, lost 2-0.

My first football game was Merthyr v Kidderminster in the early 90's

My first Cardiff game was Cardiff v Cheltenham around 98/99

My first Cardiff away was V Bradford City 2003

Merthyr v Swansea in the Welsh cup. Cant remember the year (89 i think), or the score. I know Merthyr won and the gypos missed a penalty. Happy days.

1st game was Aston Villa v Newcastle at Villa park when i was about 5.

1st Cardiff game was Cardiff v Scunthorpe I think Cardiff won 2-1 they were 1-0 down with 2 mins to go and they won.

my first match was city v preston first game of the season 2-2,my next door neighbour dragged me down.and my first away match was against rotherham in 1981 we lost 1-0 and what an eye opener that was.

FK Ekranas Panevezys v Steaua Bucarest 0-2 I guess, 96 probably. Still remember some player simulating then suddenly standing up after inducing a card

1957 Cardiff v Man U. I Sat in the Canton stand with my uncle. City needed to win to stay in the first division. Man U the Busby Babes were top. City were 2-1 up at half time but lost 3-2 and went down.

My first ever game was Aldershot v Wigan in 1978. 1-1 draw i think. Always had soft spot for the shots after that (remember their last game in 92 )

First CCFC game was away to Aberystwyth Town. We won 1-0. Early 80s.

First league game was home to the geordies in 81. We won 1-0 Peter Kitchen.

First away game was County in 83. Lost 1-0 in front of 16000.

First international was v England. Lost 1-0. Trevor Francis scored.

My eldest boys first game was v CArlisle in 97 (he was 2 months old and slept through!)

My daughters first game was v Gillingham in 2003-04 (5 nil-Earnie 4)

My 2nd sons first game was v Wigan in 2006 (lost 2-0-kavs return)

My 3rd son has yet to visit CCFC. He will make his debut v Watford in January 2011.

My first game was as a nipper v's crew either div 3 or 4 cant remember properly. Must have been 88/89 maybe 90 season.


Home game and my first taste of what happened at football! only the bob bank and grandstand was open and the crewe fans were nestled in what was Section A. As you looked from the Bob Bank was the top left corner of the stand. We lost but il never forget the final whistle! 100 maybe 200 of ours ran across the pitch and swapped missiles with the crewe fans madness! i was then sheppered out by my uncle. Il never forget that.

First home City game - V Chesterfield early 93. Didn't think I would ever see City lose with the run we went on after that, few weeks later was 1-0 down late on and equalised to keep my record up, went on to win league, thought I was the lucky mascot. Couldn't have been tho cos seen enough defeats to last a lifetime now!! lol

First City away game - V Stockport away think it was 1st away game of 93 or 94. Anyway lost 4-1 (Think lanky Kevin Francis bagged a hat trick and Stanty and Psycho got sent off!!), then nearly got trampled by horses in the away end, brings it all back, pooed my pants.
