Both ways resulted in the same outcome , both reduced infections, both had very similar death rates and both are now in the middle of a second wave
No government has been proven right in how to deal with this issue, everyone has failed no matter what lengths they went to.
The best for what I can see is Australia and New Zealand. They stopped all foreign travel which is the mistake we made after lockdown allowing foreign Holidays.

no we did not reduce infections... the day Boris announced the lockdown we had 877 new positives and had a total of 6000.... the day he announced easing we had 834 and a total of 297,000 ,,,the day we locked down we had 67 deaths, the day easing off was announced it was 89 deaths.... an incredible 39, 500 people lost their lives and 294,000 got infected during that period... and where are we now...back in lockdown because it worked so well last time...
the numbers were lower during the summer because all numbers for respiratory diseases are lower in the summer...

When we locked down we didn't even have a reliable test for this virus and were pretty much guessing numbers so nobody knows the true extent of infections. It can only be assumed lockdown worked because when we did finally get tests , cases dropped dramatically before going back up because of opening certain parts of the economy too early.
This second wave around Europe has been caused by international travel and nightclubs in my opinion and that is the case for all countries.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out if people do not meet each other then the virus cannot spread so lockdowns DO work if people stop being so selfish and actually work together to beat this.
All theses conspiracy theorists and fake virus sayers are the ones moaning now we are back in lockdown. Its mostly there fault aswell for not taking it seriously.

my figures are facts...respiratory diseases are lower in summer..fact.
all those assumptions youve put up are just that.... spun by selfish coronaphobes who dont much care about anything other than them hiding behind calling fake news on actual facts because thats not what theyve imagined.... and the unselfish ,selfish...invariably peope it effects least...
yes a lockdown would work if you could isolate each individual... you dont even have to be a toy rocket let alone a scientist to figure out that will not happen,..the last lockdown involved 7 million people being key workers, and joe public having contact with these when receiving or going out for supplies... and once given opportunity the virus will spread as viruses do...

Unfortunately, Wales are not responsible for the financial implications of this lockdown e.g. wages, business grants, universal credits and business closures.
And all of the above drips into unemployment, despair, low self esteem and suicide.
Please wake up to the big picture.......you're mate might be the next poor soul who loses his/hers job through no fault of their own.
And for what? Obviously a grand master plan that we are not privvy to!

We are ALL responsible both financially and health wise. This virus is back to this degree because people ignored it and didnt take it seriously. I dont need to be WOKE I am already wide awake. People will lose there jobs because of the selfishness of others not the government's decisions. They paid most peoples wages for months and a lot of people paid them back by taking the piss or spending it abroad when our economy needed it badly.
The only grand plan is to save our health service and stop this bad situation turning into a total disaster for years stop reading conspiracy theories on Facebook and do your part to help rid us of the virus otherwise you are part of the problem.

I wouldnt bother mate, you will never get certain posters to think differently, some in my eyes are terrified individuals, and anyone who thinks these restrictions will stop the virus,is in my eyes a little naive, but its all opinions, thats all.those like thomas love to put different thinkers in boxes,it jelps them feel they are right.
