This is not an exclusive left wing agenda at all. Anyone watching Sky's Beth Rigby yesterday and her angry questioning of Cummings can see the sense of frustration that many in the media feel regardless of politics. Are Sky left wing? Many in the media and in the public are rightfully angry as this is not a story of politics its about truth and decency. His actions broke the rules. Those on the right wing may like to play mindless Trump politics and say 'Fake news' but this story isn't going away because it cuts through to decent people who have all made huge sacrifices and would not have behaved like Cummings regardless of their politics.
I think he'll keep his job for now but public confidence in the health message is damaged.Why should people follow the rules if you just need to interpret them? His defence for going to Barnard Castle was farcical. To test his eye sight?! If that's acceptable behaviour the public will rightfully decide the rules really don't matter anymore. This is dangerous as we emerge out of lockdown.
This is just the beginning of this crisis too. A winter of discontent is coming when hundreds of thousands will be out of work when furlough ends.The public again will have this in the back of their minds. I am middle to right of the right wing in politics (basically a Conservative voter) and when this Dominic cummings saga first broke, I too thought this is just another left wing agenda BUT I must say that after finding out the facts and listening to Grant Shaps on Marr on Sunday squirming in the chair and then Dominic Cummings statement and this morning Michael Gove squirming in interview.

The Tories have made a massive mistake here. They are obviously telling Porky's and blatant porky's, you can see them squirming and having every excuse under the sun.

Like others have said " you can fool some of the people some of the time but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time"

As for some comments saying that if Joe Public do not get sacked for breaking a rule , well Cummings is at the top end of Government and Has a say in making the RULES, therefore he is much more accountable than joe public and has a responsibility to his position. Imagine if the Captain of a ship broke the rules that he represents, the whole ship - There would be anarchy on board.

With power comes responsibility I am afraid.

You don't have to have a TV licence unless you watch 'live' broadcasts or the BBC iPlayer. You aren't being forced.
1.The TV enforcement officer has no more right to enter your home than the school lollipop lady.
2. It requires a warrant from a magistrate and for that they need to have reasonable evidence of an offence being committed to get one. Saying that your address isn't on the database isn't evidence.

You will however be regularly pestered by a letter from Capita threatening you with a visit. (See 1.)

There, now you never need to watch or pay for the BBC ever again and you can stop moaning about them.

A year ago this week the left wing print and broadcast media had delivered the Tory party obituary. The BBC wheeled out political grandee after political grandee telling us the party were broken and for good. They ran 100's of stories of leave voters who'd apparently changed their mind and would now vote remain. Where did they go on 12th Dec. They see Dominic Cummings as huge factor in stealing victory and the death of Brexit from their hands.

Truth is he saw through their propaganda and paradoxically seems to be more in touch with the common mans thinking than most would give him credit for. Sure he's in trouble here, he shouldn't have broken the rules as he did. At the moment though he's already won the war. Instrumental in delivery the party from the depths of despair to a huge majority. Brexit will happen whether the BBC like it or not.

We do however need to remove the organisation from the position of a publicly funded service provider. Need to get on with that as soon as the current crisis is behind us. This isn't about Dominic Cummings really, its about turning over this government. He's just provided the first step.

What I've told you is absolute fact. So when your current licence expires you know what to do. You don't need to speak to them, write to them or answer your door to them. You've not entered a contract with them once your license expires so by law you don't need to. I've not had a TV licence for six years.
No more BBC for you unless you still want to pay for an organisation you claim you don't want to pay for.
