You’re absolutely right. Some people have left wing agendas. I would love a world when an I can’t be arsed attitude’ leads me to security but of course it can’t and it never will

I have no political allegiances i have voted for all three major parties. I tend to look at the situation the country and I are in and vote with my conscience.

Boris was the right guy for the next 18 months as this was supposed to be the Brexit era and we needed his bluster and BS to get through it. He is probably the worse person for a serious event like a pandemic. Not that I am saying Starmer would be any better, he looks good in a suit, talks well but manages to say nothing, the Blair era ended he is just a throwback as labour are always looking backwards rather than forwards. Sturgeon like Drakeford own their own NHS disaster but somehow that's a UK problem when the chips are down. Big questions in the merit of devolution or how its managed when the dust settles.

Cummings is the liberal lefts media bogey man, the dopey British (minus Scotland) public didn't do what they told you to do during Brexit and he must have cheated because they are so superior with their 2:1's from minor universities. He is weird and doesn't play their game because he understands its rigged.
He is also disliked by the ERG because their influence suddenly dwindled with Boris's massive victory only 5 months ago spearheaded by........Cummings.

This is a battle of the political classes Journalists vs the elected government....Who really decides what happens. They are still smarting from Brexit and the Tory landslide, this is their counter attack.

Western governments were woefully underprepared for this pandemic and have made mistakes left right and centre on big humanitarian scales. This incident is so pitifully insignificant something else is about....Nobody died, were hurt or lost money.

Cummings will need to resign because the media are going to bore the county senseless with endless hours of commentary, they are determined to get him, they want their pound of flesh. They have lost absolute control because social media has destroyed their old world. Cummings knew and exploited it. But, this is old school lynching, nothing like a bit of revenge. There isn't an election for another fours years so he can take a sabbatical.

No couldn’t possibly know whether any has or hasn’t died because of his actions while symptomatic.

Johnson: Inquiry is not a good use of time

Asked why he has not launched an inquiry into the issue, Johnson says: "Quite frankly, I am not certain right now that an inquiry into that matter is an efficient use of time".

Sir Bernard Jenkin says it is very unusual for an adviser to hold a press conference in the gardens of Downing Street.

But Mr Johnson says: "I thought it would be a very good thing if people could understand what I had understood myself about what took place.

"And there you go, we had a long go at it and look, it has been a very frustrating episode and I understand why people have been so concerned.

"The country is going through horrendously difficult time.

"What we need to do is focus on getting the message right then... move on and to get on with how we are going to sort out coronavirus."

Johnson: Time to move on

SNP MP Pete Wishart now takes over the questioning. He tells the the PM he has been "brave to sacrifice credibility and popularity of the government just to stand by your man".

He suggests the public are less likely to follow the rules adding "surely no man is more important than keeping this nation safe".

Boris Johnson replies that "a lot of what was written was false" and suggests Mr Wishart is making "party political points".

He adds that he disagrees the government's messaging has been undermined and says it is "time to move on".

Cooper: You are trying to protect Cummings

Home Affairs Committee chair Yvette Cooper asks the PM for his advice to parents who may have the virus but need childcare, given the recent controversy over Mr Cummings in the last few days.

Boris Johnson says the clear advice is to stay at home and adds "if you have exceptional problems that may cause you to vary your arrangements".

Yvette Cooper continues to repeat her question while Mr Johnson insists "you would have to look at each individual case".

"The reason you are not giving a straight answer is because you are trying to protect Dominic Cummings and you don't want to apologise for him," says Ms Cooper.

The PM says it is no wonder the public "feel confused" when politicians are "bickering".

Whats the point in all this. BBC have simply ran out of things to report so they go to someone in politics. No matter what anyone says we have a leader in the UK and we should back him through thick and thin, through the hardest of times because that is what makes us a United Kingdom. So stick by Boris and everything will be alright.

In terms of Cummings he was only trying to do the right thing and looking after his family like anyone would through this lockdown.

Voice of reason.
Hopefully I can open the paper and turn on the TV and not hear more ranting about this.

Ps How long ago was it that Kinnock junior drove from S Wales to London for his dads birthday? That died a pretty quick death but the Cummings episode still lingers

Except we’re not a United Kingdom are we? The four nations all have they own lock down rules. Nothin United about that. And some high powered individuals even have they own personal rules. They hardly United the with the majority of the country.

A very pretty well written post but that’s about all it is, just like a fairy tale.

Not like anyone would do at all. There’s a thread here asking that question and not all said they would do the same. So again not an ounce of truth there, in all individual opinions but please don’t tell me what my opinion/decision is.

Thank you.

Get behind the leader !!!! Are you really calling this f*cking tool a leader? He has bluffed job after job on contacts and the old school tie.He has been sacked as a journalist for lying!Colleagues refer to his laziness and inability to grasp detail , hence the need for Mephistopheles (Cummings) His loyalty to the Tories is nil. He is not a Tory and would attach himself to a dog turd if he thought it would propel him to power. He abandoned his cancerous wife to get his leg over and knock out number ????? sprog. Can you imagine the Torygraph or Daily Mail if this was a Labour PM or leader? Spare me he is a grade A c**t of the first degree and could not care less if half the population starved to death. Just to inform you I do not vote Labour at any level.
