90% of the pictures in newspapers and online are of london. 5% are south east seaside towns and the other 5% random pictures across the country.

London is acting like the rules do not apply and dragging the rest of the country down with them.

Most people are adhering to the rules but like Spain on the first day the rules are too open and if everyone chooses to go out after lunch places look packed and the tabloids jump on it.

People have tried really hard to stay home and are getting treated the same as the idiots in london is not fair

For the newspapers and sky news its a pretty boring "everyone switch over to Netflix" story if 99.9% of people adhere to the lockdown. There are 9 million in London with the fastest dropping of the death rate. I guess if i wait in one bottleneck for several hours to get the perfect photo of news report I will get what i want.

I am currently waiting for the uproar when Joe Public realised Bojo just took their 2 weeks overseas summer holiday from them unless you have very understanding bosses and they can accept another two weeks of government self isolation after your 2 weeks in Benidorm.

Well if your planning on going to France it's even more now - Happy Holidays !!!

Sounds like Emmanuel Macron not best pleased with Boris's plans for 14-day quarantine for people coming to the UK. Tells Boris in a phone call that France will introduce 'reciprocal' measures. So a day trip to Calais = 28 days in quarantine either side of the Channel

They have just announced its now exempt from quarantine rules

Social distancing will stay in place until they find a cure / vaccine which will be many months away .

The mixed messages which are coming out are not helping some out there to help the rest of us - get this under control.

Tonight we might go from Stay Home : Save The NHS : Save Lives ...To - Stay Alert : Control The Virus : Save Lives .

Waiting for a vaccine is daft as firstly it can be a 1yr away ut also there is a strong possibility there wont be an effective vaccine as corvid 19 is same group as common cold and 3 other viruses in family and not one as a vaccine! No easy answer but at some point in near future just got bite bullet and try return to some sort of normality whatever that is? And july is looking like the start as furlough due to end then and cannot see gvmnt extension to far behond that date so necessity will make businesses open up or go bust..

I am not saying we stay home until a cure for this is found - we might as well all go back next week/ month and keep 2mts.
The point i am making is social distancing is in for good and we should not go back with people not doing this .
If there was no cure/vaccine or whatever medical term we use to be found - why is so much money going into this ?
As for furloghed - Plan is to get it down to under the Gov target of 3M and then we might see 60% paid after June -
Or as you say and i agree business open or go bust .

Furlough scheme set to be extended to September

Ministers are expected to extend the state bankrolling of wages until the end of September, albeit at a reduced rate of 60pc, while also topping up the pay packets of staff brought back to work on a part-time basis.

Changes to the furlough scheme could be announced by Rishi Sunak, the Chancellor, as soon as tomorrow.

The move is part of a package of reforms to wean Britain off furloughing as the Covid-19 lockdown is eased, with the Government desperate to get staff back to work.

Industry sources told the Telegraph that Cabinet ministers have begun telling bosses that the coronavirus job retention scheme will continue throughout the summer, with the taxpayer footing the bill for 60pc of wages.
