How can those figures be in any way said to be accurate?

Are there any figures available for how many people did not have the virus when they were admitted to hospital but caught it in hospital and then died?

So much conjecture and speculation it's hard to know what to believe with the figures being released every day.

David,

I personally believe that All countries are putting the virus down to many of these deaths when many might have died anyway .

Annis,

You may well be right.

I suppose in years to come the actual figures will probably be revealed but at the moment it is so hard to know what to believe.

The scientists said that in the briefing yesterday that they believe that the excess death rate would be the marker in a few months time and not to compare each country ,every country is different also today France confirms 1st case in December after retesting people who died

The right wing media will swing behind this government at all costs but when an enquiry is held it will be proven that they have blood on their hands. Shameful.

Sadly it’s the truth honesty on here is not allowed.

UK Govt have a lot to blame for and did not do a lockdown and what they did was to late .

Even though every day we get awful news of the virus and it continues to be high yet some are still in denial it’s happening .

Annis, how can you say honesty is not allowed here? I for one don't believe the figures given out by any country, I believe the actual death toll, that can be attributed to covid 19 alone as cause of death is a good deal less than the figures given by government, as it's been admitted by more than one country, that covid is put on death certificates of patients who had not been tested, and the vast majority of deaths are in patients with serious underlying health issues,it's not on for covid to be used as cause of death, when in most, yes they may have tested positive, but we're coming to end of life pretty soon anyway.that in no way is a slant on any death that is caused by covid directly, but in my opinion we will never know the true figures, how can we? Just because some patients "showed a symtom/s doesn't necessarily mean they definitely had it! If honesty is not allowed, then how come posts that have been clearly copied and pasted from elswhere are allowed?? The truth is not something that government/s are known for ,and we know they have lied about being as prepared as we could,I think what a lot of posters are getting at is we really don't need telling repeatedly that this government has been talking b@locks since the very beginning,we can all read and hear the nonsense 24/7 if we need to.we know there were dicks who ignored the rules(as soft and confusing as they were!) The morons you keep referring to,probably cant/don't read,so you see are missing the audience you are aiming these posts at? Unfortunately it is what it is now, but being honest, scream at the piss poor response from boris and his cronies!! :old: :bluebird:

There is a method whereby we compare our standard deaths in the month to our actual deaths for the month. This gives you an idea of how many deaths have been exclusively caused by covid. UK leads the way in that metric to btw.

that's how youd measure a flu epidemic where there is no lockdown...its certainly not a method being used or even suggested over covid..
unfortunately the lockdown is killing people of all sorts of other things where normally they would have life saving treatment..

It’s not me saying all these figures or stories

It’s Sky News / BBC / ITV etc

And the UK media that’s what you see 24/7! And I do over here .

It’s any foreign country or any foreigner saying it, everything said is what comes out of the UK

I believe we attributing deaths to Covid differently across nations, some I imagine down playing theirs and very few deaths are caused by Covid alone percentage wise. Maybe our 2 nd and 3 rd waves won’t be so bad and other countries will be worse hit. It take ages before we know the true death rate and even then it may be inaccurate.

I for one are happy with the way uk has dealt with it on the whole, we done ourselves proud.

At the beginning same people saying the videos / pictures etc etc of people flocking to beaches / parks etc etc where fake .

So when I put it out and don’t forget it’s coming direct from All UK media / tv etc why are some on here continually making out it’s false.

Surely everybody from Govt - media - tv etc can’t all be lying how bad the virus in the UK is?

And by the way you haven’t disputed what I have been putting out

And I would much rather be putting out the UK is the least etc etc

Also don’t forget the UK Govt said itself it was looking at worst 20,000 deaths .

Of course it’s right to compare other countries if the UK was the least they would be saying it as well.

The first week of the UK lockdown was DONT go out, yet the pubs / cinemas/ theatres were still open , madness .

For weeks and still Now happening 105,000 people arrive in the UK with not one question asked to them.

I won’t go on but from day one the Govt were way to slow and soft .

Germany 83mill
France 67 mill
UK 66mill
Italy 60mill
Spain 47mill

UK is at least two weeks behind on the virus.

AND THUS IS FACTS BELOW / NOT FAKE NEWS

At least 15,000 people a day are flying into the UK without checks on their medical condition, the health secretary admitted yesterday.

Matt Hancock said that the equivalent of 105,000 passengers a week were entering the UK from countries including those with serious coronavirus outbreaks such as the US, China, Spain and Italy. Criticism has mounted over the failure to impose health checks or a compulsory period in quarantine for people arriving at UK airports. The US has banned entry for people from Britain and elsewhere in Europe.

Sky News:

The UK got in this position after 45 days / Italy took 60 days to get in this position

yes I have disputed stuff but not correct numbers... which this is...
how bad is it ?.... based on average figures in a small town of 25 000 people 71 would have contracted it many mildly.. and 12 would have died 10 of which would be over 70 with at least 2 underlying illnesses...im not sure if you lived in that town...were all cut off from the news and never heard of covid youd be thinking of locking your family indoors...
ive abided by the rules. but boy am I questioning them..

An eye-catching figure from the briefing is that there were 6,111 new cases of coronavirus recorded yesterday.

That’s the third highest number of new cases in the UK since the outbreak began.

It could be a result of the extraordinary increase in testing we’ve seen since late April.

It’s the highest number of new cases from people such as those in social care, key workers and their families, as opposed to tests carried out in hospitals.

Some of them will be the home test kits that will have been arriving at labs and taking a few days to process and get the results.

Sweden nears 'horrifying' death toll of 3,000 from coronavirus with 87 new fatalities, including a child under ten

Swedens death toll rising significantly in last week

State epidemiologist Anders Tegnell called it 'a horrifyingly large number'

Among them child under ten was reported to have succumbed in intensive care

Tegnell said death was being looked at but assured public it was highly unusual

Sweden has taken a markedly softer approach to the rest of Europe, keeping schools, cafes, bars, restaurants and businesses to stay open
Here’s how to help people impacted by Covid-19

Sweden is nearing the 'horrifying' death toll of 3,000 from coronavirus, with 87 new fatalities, including a child under ten.

The Scandinavian country, which has taken a softer approach to containing the virus, reported another 87 deaths, compared to 85 fatalities the day before. There were another 702 cases, compared to 495 on Tuesday, taking its total to 23,918.

'We are starting to near 3,000 deceased, a horrifyingly large number,' state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell told a press conference.

Among them, according to Aftonbladet, a child aged under ten who had been in intensive care. Tegnell told the paper it was investigating the death but would not confirm whether it was as a result of COVID-19.
